Not ten years after
my beach meditation at dawn, but close - almost 9 years - I wrote the following
very short "free-association" piece. It was a reaction to a
friend's prediction of a new year in world war. It began as a pondering
of the future and the importance of music in my life and the world. It
ended up encompassing a new revelation about my Convergence experience, which
was recorded in poetic form in such works as “Harmonic Convergence, 1987” and “Lord’s
Prayer for a New Age.”
The Rainbow
Revolution - A Treatise
(c) 10 June 1996
Song and Music, hand
in hand, will call forth more emotion than the onrush of adolescent Love.
Music is love and song is the spell we weave as we look out into the dark,
finding ourselves. Are we living in reality? Or is this
fantasy? The essence of the power of the Universe is found in the smallest
portion of a song. Music and song bring home calm thoughts of
God/Goddess, and the dreams of a safe haven of happiness are there.
1987 - Harmonic
Convergence - 20 years EXACTLY from the Summer of Love, 1967. Is this
coincidence, or is it simply One Day, understood in our reality as the politics
of linear Time? Song and Music bring it together - the fear of unknown
revolution, the rhythm of anger toward what has been, the poetry of R E V /
O / L U / T I O N - political sex - Male/Female - Killer Queen -
He/She's got the Magick Hands, Mama.
The music becomes the
rhythm of night, the E L E C T / R I C I T
Y of man comes to woman comes to woman, and the song becomes the kiss of
woman comes to man comes to man. Music and song become One, becoming
GODDESS. The planets have CONVERGED, have joined in song - and 1997 is
NOT war, as some fear. Their revolution will be hard drums, angry
scratches, dark music, thunderbolts! While mine
- my revolution will be dulcimers and sitaars, sweet Celtic notes, and BLUES --
everyone making LOVE -- man to man to woman to woman to God to Goddess to Music
to Song.
Everyone is
revolution; mine is the Rainbow Revolution and my weapon is my Magick and my
Magick is in the Music, my spell is in the Song.
