Mt. Hoffmann, California, USA (10,850 ft / 3307 m): via the South Slope

July 9, 2005

Mt. Hoffmann (10,850')

Brief report:

An easy hike, but great views. Went with William Felten's friends (Gil & Eve and Tom). Tom got AMS at May Lake and so Will stayed behind with him there while Gil, Eve and I went for the top. A bit of snow on the final slope. Dramatic views down the steep north face of Mt. Hoffmann. Later that evening, Will and I quickly climbed the SE slope of Lembert Dome (9,450').
