Cucamonga Peak (8,859')

Brief report:

I hiked on this Sunday morning with Murray Zichlinsky. We had a early lunch/snack at Icehouse Saddle. Left Icehouse Saddle at 10:00am and went cross-country along a broad north ridge towards Bighorn Peak. Made the summit of Bighorn Peak (8,441') at 10:20am. Signed the register and then dropped x-country 800' towards Cucamonga Saddle. Skipped most of the switchbacks. I made the summit of Cucamonga Peak (8,859') at 11:15am. Murray arrived four minutes earlier. Rested a bit, drank some Gatorade, saw the smoggy view of the Inland Empire valley floor and then left the summit at 11:30am. Murray decided he was going to do Bighorn Peakon his way out. I decided to run down to the parking lot. At 12:36pm (1 hr 6 min), I was at the Icehouse Canyon trailhead parking lot. Went home, took a shower and then the girlfriend and I headed out to watch The Matrix Reloaded flick at the movies.
