Brief report:
Hiked with William Felten, Gil & Eve. We started from Happy Isles at 9:45am. I hiked at their pace. We had lunch at noon near Little Yosemite Valley and rested there for almost an hour. From there, they slowed down, so at the junction with the Half Dome trail and the JMT trail I told them I'd go at my own pace. Higher up (at approx 8200'), great views opened up with the Clark Range dominating the southern horizon. I got to the top at 3:20pm. Twenty-five minutes later Will arrived at the top but Gil & Eve had turned around lower down. We had dark clouds on top but no thunder to be heard; regardless, Will and I both left the top ten minutes after Will had arrived at the summit. We were back at Happy Isles by 7:50pm.
