Dad in grade school, circa 1943. When he was 13 he was in a bad sled accident and almost died. My grandma was the nurse in the O.R. where they saved him. She left Emergency Room nursing after that. On my last visit back home, I was in the ER and some nurses told me they remembered Jane (or had heard of her.)
