STINKY CREEK FOLK & MUSIC FESTIVAL
a name to bring a rousing chorus of ~Wheres that?~ from most and a huge smile to the faces of those ~in the know~

Held at the Lions Hostel North Shields, just a few kilometres from Port Lincoln, the Inaugural Festival 2004 won the Regional SA Great Award for the Arts and the 2006 Festival received the Port Lincoln ~Community Event of the Year~ as well as the South Australian Community Event of the Year, awarded by Her Excellency the Governor to a very proud Festival Organiser Ron Higgins at Government House on Australia Day.

An outstanding opportunity for local singers, musicians & visitors to interact with the finest musicians from around the State, sharing ideas, skills & the enjoyment of acoustic music, in a pleasant and 'unthreatening' atmosphere.  Placing the Eyre Peninsula on the National (& World) map as a centre for the excellence & enjoyment of folk & other 'non-commercial' music

Hundreds of Volunteer hours through the year contributed to this festival, which included not only, concerts with World 'Stars' such as Keith Potger, from the Seekers & other magnificent performers, plus many workshops on song-writing, musical instrument playing, singing techniques etc.,  but also entertainment for children, poetry reading, fine food & lots of fun for all ages.

Stinky Creek Folk & Music Festival 2007 (October long weekend) will again feature acoustic style music, including jazz, blues, folk, country, sea-songs, Celtic, ballads, poetry, bush dancing and special events for children.
