| Death Mask believes that justice comes from those who possess power and that the trully powerful are divine justice. He believes that the pope is that divine being who posseses all that justice. His first appearance is on the 5 Peak Mountains to murder Dohko, the Gold Saint of Libra. Shiryu fights him, but is no match for a Gold Saint. After Mu appears, Death Mask retreats and challenges the Dragon to a rematch in his house. When the Bronze Saints arrive at the Sanctuary to defeat Saga, they are repulsed by the "decorations" of his house. There are agonizing faces of young and old women and men, who have all been victims of him and can't rest peacefully since those who are killed by an evil being can never trully rest until he is defeated. Shiryu fights him and on various occations, Death Mask sends Shiryu to the afterlife, Shiryu comes back all those times until Death Mask goes with him and tries to push him into the abbyss of hell. Shiryu fights valiantly and Death Mask's armor abandons him. Such an evil man cannot possess a Gold Armor, the absolute symbol of justice. |
