Military

The Republics military is sparse at best, composed of a small standing army of about 25,000, and a total employment of some 47,000 personnel. The army is entirely volunteer, but it may not stay that way for long. The salaries, however, are exorbitant to say the least- running the gamut from 2,000 gold a day to over 50,000 per mission in the elite circles of warriors.
The Republic is largely strapped for modern currencies, however. Its arms are, for the most part, technologically sluggish. Most of its weapons were produced during the heightened arms race of the mid-1970s in the former Soviet Union, bought by smaller states such as Iran, Iraq, Somalia you know, generally unpleasant places- sold again to a Republic-loyal wholesaler, and then purchased, inspected, and shipped to the Republics army.
These arms include the armys standard-issue AK-47 assault rifle, the aging diesel submarine, Kruschaslav, most of the bombs and artillery shells purchased
And the several black market nuclear weapons Republic scientists have pieced together over a period of years. After a few kidnappings of prominent nuclear physicists- they were released later, of course heh- the CRB finally got around to preparing and putting together the components of these weapons. Currently they have the potential material for sixty such warheads- but have only assembled twelve. The missiles, however, were a bit harder to come by- the Republic only has two ICBMs, five medium-range missiles, and six short-range missiles.
Having its base of operations in Ayenee, a different Realm entirely, the Republic is generally safe from prying UN inspectors.
Generally.
Unfortunately, the same goes for Karhai and the Republics other technologically advanced enemies.

The Republics military has four branches, like most- an army, a navy, an air force, and a marine corps. All have standard-issue white uniforms but, when in active duty, generally dress in camouflage to fit the surroundings. The prophecies foretold an army in white, but Celine isnt stupid enough to garb her soldiers in a uniform that screams Target Practice.
The army is by far the largest branch, having some 13,000 men and women enlisted. It, as expected, does the heavy fighting of the Republic.
The navy is generally the smallest, though it received a big boost in funding after the acquisition of several large offshore deposits of oil. At the current moment the Republics navy stands at two battleships, six cruisers, one aircraft carrier- with only three aircraft aboard it- one submarine, and about fifteen special-built patrol boats and some three hundred makeshift ones.
The air force is largely composed of helicopters, and isnt much bigger than the navy. There are only two bomber wings and four fighter wings in the air force, whereas there are about sixty helicopter wings.
The marines are somewhat larger than both of those, having about 3,000 soldiers enlisted. They do, as usually expected, the initial strike and the mopping up of most major battles. First ones in, last ones out.
