We met a wonderful person while in Montreal. My mom had thought of writing her and thanking her for everything she had done for us to make the trip much smoother. She really did help a lot :). I thought I would tell a little about what all me and her talked about.
After she had told me she was sorry about the Nickels thing, and asked if I was the Celine Dion fan... she was telling me about her sister who too was a huge Celine fan :). She told me that before Celine got really ... you know where she had to have gates and things around her house... that her sisters soon-to-be husband went to Celine's house to ask if she would sing at the wedding. Rene came to teh door! He said he would certinly present the imvitation to Celine, and see what she had planned for that day. If nothing she would do it. But... Celine had something to do that day... but she wrote a hand writen letter back to Mary's sister thanking her for inviting her and that she was very sorry she could not attend. So, that was cool to hear about! lol.
Later on that night, when we were settled in our room, I was looking through some Celine things while writing a letter to a friend. My mom asked if I would go see if Mary was still there to ask her something about a French direction she was not sure of. So... I took one of my Celine CDs with me. I got down there and she was there. I asked her about the direction word 1st, and then showed her my Au Coeur Du Stade CD... because I don't know ANY French yet... I hope to take it in school this year. She told me it ment "the heart of the stage or stadium." I was like amazed at that little bit lol. I told her how much I would LOVE to live in Montreal, and she was telling me she would LOVE to live in North Carolina. I think we both thought each other were crazy lol. I told her that in North Carolina, everyone either didn't like Celine, or just made fun of me because I did like her. She replyed very fast... "Don't listen to them! They're stupid!" I will NEVER forget what she said that day and I always remeber that advice when someones says something about me or Celine. I have to say thats about the most useful bit of information any one has ever given me.
The next morning we were going to drive into Old Montreal with the directions Mary gave my mom. Mary was not at the desk that morning so I never got to tell hr bye and thanks for all she had done for me and my family. :'( But she was a great person... I don't have any pictures of her... we were going to see if she would want to get one that morning... But, at least I have the memory and the advice she gave me. :)
