"Toby"

12.5 x 16.5 inches

watercolour

This is dog number three! Toby was a beautiful, big softee - a husky-retriever-shepherd cross. We also found him at the Peterborough Market, selling garden furniture for a neighbouring vendor.
He was like a teddy bear when he was a pup and my dad couldn't resist him (I tried). As my father lives in England, Toby had to stay with us, but we always thought of him as dad's dog. Cleo wasn't impressed at first and gave him a nip on the chin the moment she met him......
Toby died exactly two months after Sadie when his rear legs finally gave out.
We survived without a dog for three weeks after Toby died - now we have Charlie (girl), a smooth collie and Dougall, a husky-chow cross. I haven't gotten around to painting them, yet, though I have masses of photos to work from.
