Program. Responsibilities included writing weekly updates on three African
countries and presenting reports and summaries pertaining to these countries.

March 2002: Ten-day trip to rural Honduras in conjunction with a semester class on
Central American history, religion, and development.

September 1999-June 2001: Full time volunteer with Mennonite Voluntary Service at the Welcome Home Community, Edmonton, Alberta. Responsibilities included planning and leading family activities, volunteer coordinating, participating in a
24-hour on-call rotation, program promotion, community liaison.

July 1998-July 1999: Volunteer with Mennonite Central Committee in Chad, Africa. Lived with Chadian host-family. Responsibilities included teaching English at a theology school, childcare (9 younger siblings, aged 13 and under), learning responsibilities of a Chadian household, communicating in French.

January 1998-May 1998: Assistant to Goshen College Provost. Responsibilities included tallying statistics, comparative researching, formatting reports, organizing files.

September 1996-May 1998: Lab assistant with Physical World labs at Goshen College.
Responsibilities included aiding students in labs, grading labs, teaching labs.

July 1997-August 1997: Volunteer at The Bridge Community Centre in Belfast, Northern Ireland. Responsibilities included co-leading the summer children’s program in a lower-income, inner-city neighborhood.

June 1996-July 1996: Associate program director at Bethany Birches Camp, Plymouth, Vermont. Responsibilities included organizing children’s activities, life guarding, aiding other staff.

June 1995-August 1995: PEW scholar, Goshen, Indiana. Responsibilities included conducting experiments in an organic chemistry lab, presenting results.

September 1994-May 1996: Student tutor at Goshen College. Responsibilities included tutoring various students in physics and history.

June 1994-August 1994: Junior counselor at Highland Retreat Camp, Bergton, Virginia. Responsibilities included co-counseling cabins of 10 campers and leading various outdoor activities.
