CeliaSays Community
Firework Extravaganza!!!
WHAM! BAM! THANKYOU MA'AM!
Hi, Agent DeLunTrash here,

We may be in the process of making a movie that Leonard Maltin has already tipped as being bigger than Star Wars, Titanic, Lord of the Rings AND the Class of Nuke Em' High COMBINED, but it's important that CeliaSays doesn't forget the hi-jinks and mayhem that you, the community, the general public, the masses, old Joe Bloggs from round the road in his beat up 69' Combi and little dog Snapper get up to on a daily basis.

And, that, in the words of the Bee Gees, is where I come in.

If I were to throw up a list of random, totally unrealted things, say, fireworks, Old Skool England, Young Children clutching volitile flaming rods of metal in their wee, not get fully grown and easy broken mits, and ofcourse the old folk, there'd be no prizes given if you were to say; "Why that reminds me of CeliaSays" !

SO it was with great delight, that Tom and I flew back to NZ from location in New Mexico, to set up the CeliaSays community firework show, with a little help from the Sydenham Pyrotechnic Company (03 3568920 anytime, except Tues, Fri and Sunday)

Guy Fawkes has always been the holiday dearest to my heart. In my upcoming biography it will reveal that I did play Guy Fawkes in a school play at the age of seven. So therefore I feel something of a natural affinity towards Guy and his band of merry men who tried to blow up the King and Parliament on that cold, cold November night. (Two bonus points if you can name the difference between Government and Parliament, answers on a postcard to G. Mehrtens)

So last night, despite strong winds and the New Brighton show being called off, the first CeliaSays firework night was held on a boat in Lyttelton Harbour. 1000 specially selected little gems of the community (just like the ones you see here, in Suburbia Superstars) joined us on the three hour cruise. There was great catering to be had courtesy of Tuskers, Stanmore Rd. and music from Michael Stipe's and Mick Jagger's band, 'The Wottnots'. With further entertainment from Suburbia Superstar, Bon Bon the clown, and more Pineapple Schnapps than you can shake a stick at, it was a night that definitely won't be forgotten in a hurry!

What's even better is that we managed to raise a whopping $57.20 in the raffle which we shall be donating to the Mary Wordsworth foundation for the arthritic blind.

Fireworks: Another way in which CeliaSays is a true credit to the community.
