Hello dear readers, Celia here As Im sure you are aware, the general elections for 2002 have been and gone. On the evening on Saturday the 28th of July Helen Clarke was re-elected as the nations Prime Minister. Well thats what you were told. In reality, I, Celia, representing CeliaSays actually received 89.5% of votes, enough to make me something of bull in a china shop, so to speak. So why am I not Prime Minister, I hear you ask. Well, after half an hour of deliberation, and despite much coaxing on behalf of the agents and Tom, I decided not to accept the position. For I realised that if I were to become Prime Minister, whod run CeliaSays? New Zealand is a great place, but its not the same CeliaSays. I know that I really should have thought about this earlier, before I actually won, but someone once sung a song called You Dont Know What Youve Got Until Its Gone. I cant remember who, (DeLunTrash would know but shes teaching Tom how to work the video player) but thats how I felt. Therefore, I informed my advisors of my decision, who in turn informed Helen, as well as Paul and Mike back in the studio. And instead, accepted the more humble, but manageable role of Member of Parliament. And thats my story. Not as exciting as it could have been, but exciting all the same. And if you are thinking that I am a very foolish person, remember that if I am not here, then neither is this site. And what a sorry world that would be. So may this be the start of a long, happy future for the political aspect of CeliaSays. As Winston Peters said last night; CeliaSays, the Underdog that caught up, won the race then got away because it saw something else thatd rather be doing, say an ice cream van for example. Celia xxx |
