Pink Loose China here,

All of you sharp eyed followers of  PROJECTCELIA will have noticed that theres something a little off about the casting of my character Pink Loose China in the up and coming film. Weve had buckets of letters sent to the St Albans office (and I literally mean buckets, DLT bought up big in the last Briscoes Sale and weve finally found a use for them) regarding the casting of Saved By the Bells Screech in the role.

Many confused readers have written in to say I was always under the impression that PLC was a woman, you know what with the picture of her and her calling herself an Aunty and all Have I made a terrible mistake? I would hate to have been wrong all this time and only now realize that a woman I have been modeling myself on is actually a man Please Help Me!

That was an outtake from a letter from a woman in Parnell who we shant name but will tell you that she lives at 67 Kitirangi Drive, Parnell, Auckland or you can send a stamped self-addressed letter to us at the office to gain access to her telephone number.

Anyway, we decided that to clear the whole matter of Screech being cast as me the best thing to do would be to talk to Cher who did the casting with the help on Celia and Steven.

PLC: Hi there Cher, hows it going?

Cher: Oh, not bad, thanks.

PLC: Can I offer you some lemon slice?

Cher: Thanks. [Takes a piece and nibbles at a corner before putting it on a napkin on the coffee table.]

PLC: Dont you like it?

Cher: Oh sure, its great. I just dont have much of a sweet tooth.

PLC: Oh, alright. Now Cher, you did the casting for PROJECTCELIA, why is it that Steven chose you?

Cher: I was actually very surprised when I got the call. Steve called me while I was in the studio recording a duet with Bono to go on the next U2 album and I had to call him back from a payphone on the street after the recording session because my cellphone had fallen into a vat of punch at a party in Soho the night before. Anyway I didnt have enough quarters to make the call to California where he was liasing with Celia, so I had to ask this lady on the street for some change. She was very obliging and I made the call and talked to Steve and Celia about the possibility of casting for the film. Celia said I was her first choice because she LOVED Mermaids and always played the Shoop Shoop Song at parties. I could tell that we were kindred spirits and agreed straight away.

PLC: [Looking a little dubious about the kindred spirits thing] Well, sounds like it all went swimmingly

[Obscure Pause of About 17 Seconds]

PLC: So what I really wanted to know, well, not JUST me, but many readers at CeliaSays as well, was why did you make the choice to cast Screech as myself in the film?

Cher: Because he gave the best audition.

PLC: Nothing at all seemed a little weird about casting him in the role?

Cher: No

PLC: Nothing at all?

Cher: Nope

PLC: HES A MAN! I AM A WOMAN! DID THIS ESCAPE YOUR ATTENTION!?

Cher: Oh That Right, um well when we went to finalise the list of characters and things like that it occurred to Steve that he didnt have a romance story to pull in the 30-40 something women So we decided what better than an office romance between two characters who are so obviously soul mates and had survived so many terrifying adventures together.

PLC: So you made my character into a male, cast Screech in the part and then made DLT fall in love with him?

Cher: It was Steves idea and Celia agreed Itll pull in the numbers and quite frankly it gives the movie more of a human angle And Screech and Kimi have such great on-screen chemistry.

PLC: Are the rumours about a behind the scenes romance true?

Cher: Youd have to ask them that, Im not really on set now that everything has settled down and people are working hard. Can I have another piece of Lemon Slice?

PLC: [Glancing at the uneaten piece on the table] Sure [Offers the plate] Thank you so much for taking time to talk to me Cher, its been a real pleasure.

Cher: Yeah, me too, we should do lunch some time.

PLC: Uh huh Bye
