Special Attacks: Trap, needle rain Special Qualities: Construct, hardness 8 Saves: Fort +0, Ref +0, Will -5 Abilities: Str 12, Dex 10, Con -, Int -, Wis 1, Cha 1 Challenge Rating: 3 Alignment: Neutral Appearing to be just an ornate pedestal, this creature contains much more surprises than a bit of treasure and perhaps a trap. Standing 4 feet tall and covered in the leering faces of demons, this marble pedestal sits on four clawed feet and is built to hold something small and valuable, such as a gem or wand. When animate the faces writhe and laugh silently, when not spitting forth needles. Combat The pedestal attacks by smashing into opponents and shooting hails of needles. With its high hardness, it is capable of dealing a great deal of damage before it is worn down. Hail of Needles (Ex): Due to internal mechanisms, the pedestal possesses the ability shoot a horde of one-inch iron needles at an opponent as a standard action. After each firing, the pedestal requires a move equivalent action to reload the mechanism from its internal magazine. After 10 uses, it is empty and the creator must manually refill the device. Trap (Ex): As its initial attack, the pedestal attacks with its hail of needles. Due to its cunning positioning it gains a +10 circumstance bonus to the attack. Needle Rain (Ex): As a full round action, a loaded (see above) pedestal can dance around, releasing a spray of needles in all directions. This does 1d4 damage to all within 10 feet (Reflex save DC 11 for half damage). Attacks: The Hostile Pedestal gets a +9 circumstance bonus to attack rolls with its hail of needles due to the sheer volume of shots. |
