It is a surviving sauropod, a smaller version of the diplodocus. Living in isolated lakes and streams, the creature is known to be very dangerous, perhaps due to its fiercely territorial nature. It is also a cave dweller, burrowing into the soft earth by the river edges with its claws. Legend has it that killing one will bring down a curse. Combat Mokele-mbembe attacks with its sharp claws, trying to drive away all trespassers. It often uses its size to overrun and stomp upon interlopers. Mosasaurus The great predator of the ocean depths during the time of the dinosaurs, this predator resembles a crocodile in form. Its powerful flippers and tail propel it toward its prey where its huge jaws make short work of it. Combat Mosasaurus uses its powerful jaws to crush its prey, pinning airbreathers underwater to drown. Smaller creatures are simply swallowed. Improved Grab (Ex): To use this ability the mosasaurus must hit a Medium-Sized or smaller opponent with its bite attack. If it gets a hold, it can try to swallow the foe. Swallow Whole (Ex): A mosasaurus can try to swallow a Medium-size or smaller opponent by making a successful grapple check. A swallowed creature takes 2d8+8 points of crushing damage a round plus 8 points of acid damage from the mosasuaruss stomach. A swallowed creature can try to cut its way out with its claws or a Small or tiny slashing weapon by dealing 25 points of damage to the stomach wall (AC 20). The creatures stomach can hold up to 2 Medium-size creatures, 8 Small creatures, or many smaller creatures. Pteranodon Pteranodons are part of a unique group of creatures, flying bat like reptiles. These creatures live along the prehistoric shores devouring fish. Some of these creatures grew to quite prodigious size, with wingspans of approaching 50 feet. Combat Pteranodons attack by swooping down on their victims and biting or pecking. If seriously threatened, they will just flee to the air. |
