Despite this it has only a fraction of the weight of its cousin Brachiosaurus. Its body is long and lean with a whip-like tail. These statistics can be used for other sauropods, such as Apatosaurus. Combat Rather than try and stomp any predator or threat that threatens the creature or its herd, Diplodocus swings its massive but lightning quick tail at its foe. If that strategy fails then it may charge past the threat and flee to safety. Trample (Ex): A frightened Diplodocus will run over creatures of Large size or smaller, dealing damage 4d6+10 (opponents who do not make attacks of opportunity can attempt a Reflex save DC 32 for half damage). Hadrosaur Hadrosaurs are the familiar duck billed dinosaurs. They a diverse group ranging in size from 13 to 42 feet in length. Some had elaborate crests while others had plain heads. Combat Hadrosaurs had very little protective gear. Mostly when faced with danger they would run. If cornered they would deliver a poor bite. A stampede of hadrosaurs is the only thing that an adventurer has to fear about this creature. Stampede (Ex): A frightened herd of hadrosaurs flees as a group in a random direction (but always away from the perceived source of danger). They literally will run over anything of size Large or smaller that gets in their way, dealing 1d12 damage for every 3 hadrosaurs that pass over the creature. A successful Reflex save (DC 18) halves the damage. Ichthysaur While not a true dinosaur, this reptile is never the less the ultimate in aquatic evolution. It is perfectly adapted to life in the sea and is much like the reptilian form of the dolphin. It may reach lengths of up to 30 feet. Combat Ichthysaurs attack with sharp bites, using their speed and maneuverability in the water to their advantage. |
