Hence a detect magic spell cast on the character would reveal that she is clad in only non-magical gear. The item in no way interferes with the magical items abilities of the magic items unless the item�s abilities pertain to the identification or detection of magical items in which case any items on the character�s person do not radiate magic. This can reveal the handkerchief presence (since it never radiates magic) because the magical items will still function (i.e. a wand of fireballs will still toss fireballs showing that something is interfering with magical detection).
