| Nick got up and brushed the sand off of himself. He sauntered back to the hotel and sleepily changed into a tee shirt and boxers. He would refrain from the usual party life tonight. He had more important things to do. He glanced over at the labtop. He hoped the line would be free, as he dialed the number on his cell phone. The ling rang, Nick smiled to himself. "Hello?" The female voice on the other line replied sleepily. "Hi." Nick answered as he once again smiled. "Nick?" The female voice quizzed somewhat anxiously. "Autumn?" Nick teasingly replied. "Oh my gosh! I missed you!" Autumn replied excitedly. "Missed you too, love." Nick lovingly replied. Suddenly the two became silent. After about ten minutes of this, Autumn broke the silence. "So..?" Autumn said softly. "I want to meet you." Nick blurted out. "Okay.." Autumn replied cautiously. "When?" Once again, the line went silent. "Nick?" Autumn said in a puzzled voice. "Autumn, will you marry me?" Nick said suddenly. His face turned a deep red as he realized he wasn't keeping his thoughts to himself. "WHAT?" Autumn questioned a little more loudly than she planned. "Oh m God..I'm..I'm sorry.." Nick stuttered extremely embarrassed. "No..it's alright.." Autumn said, trying to comfort him. "You just surprised me, that's all." "I surprised myself even more." Nick said, trying to laugh it off. "Yes." Autumn interrupted. "Yes what?" Nick said puzzled. "Yes, I'll marry you." Autumn replied confidently. Nick's heart started beating a mile a minute. "But..but..but..we haven't even met. Nick began to stutter but trailed off, not knowing what else to say. "So?" Autumn replied. "I love you." "I love you to." Nick said, trying to compose himself and contain his excitement. "How long will you love me?" Autumn asked cutely, as she always asked when the spoke. "Forever, Autumn. I'll love you forever." Nick replied sweetly. "Ok then." Autumn said. "When can you come up here?" "Summer?" Nick said. "But..we can plan..it..now." "Ok." Autumn chirped happily. The couple began to speak of the wedding and how wonderful it would be to finally be together. They agreed on the date of August 25 because it would mark the three years that the two had been speaking to each other. After what seemed like days of talking, they bid farewell. Nick smiled to himself as he jumped into bed. His excitement wouldn't allow sleepiness to set in. He couldn't believe it. He was finally going to hold Autumn in his arms. |
