Distant Friends
Once great friends,
Now lightyears apart;
In a war so great, so powerful,
It could make close friends distant enemys;
No one but them are fighting for,
Though stated different, the same thing.

This war goes on for decades,
Through generations many;
From family to family,
Spreading like fire through a field of hay;
No one but them can extinguigh the flame,
The ones who started it.

Though friendship can last for years on end,
So can last for a day;
So do not ignite a flame that can grow,
For a war can start, so great, so powerful,
It can make your friends distant enemies, too.
