The Secret. By Kawaii_Kitty
Chapter 4
Deception
“Sora! Sora, Wake up!!” Matt
pleaded, shaking her from her sleep.
“Huh? What?” She yawned. Sora
looked at Matt through tired eyes. “Is something the matter, Matt?” Sora sat up
and rubbed the sleep from his eyes and looked at him curiously.
“Yes! Something is very
wrong! My crest is gone!” Sora forced a gasp from her throat and put her hand
on her heart.
“That’s terrible! Are you
sure you didn’t put it in your pocket or something?” Matt shook his head slowly
and pat his pockets.
“It’s not in them, I’ve
already looked.” Sora Swallowed hard and began to sweat as she searched her mind
for any possible excuse.
“Uh, did you drop it in the
lake when you last bathed?”
Matt let this sink in for a
minute and then shook his head. “I didn’t, Because I remember using it
yesterday to fight off an evil Digimon. Sora’s face looked concerned, Did he
suspect her? She didn’t want to think of such a thing.
“Well, I don’t know what
could have happened to it. I wish I did, truly I do.” Matt raised an eyebrow at
her, as if detecting a slight hint of treason in her voice.
“Well, if you see it around,
please Let me or Gabumon know first thing.” Sora smiled slightly.
“Alright.” Sora looked him
over and blushed with a giggle.
“What? What’s so funny?”
“Are you going to strip the
rest of the way down? Or are you gonna put your shirt back on?” Matt Looked down
at his bare chest and then back up at Sora blushing lightly.
“I dunno, How much will you
pay?” Sora giggled again.
“Go put your shirt on.” She
sighed with a giggle tied in with her words.
When Matt returned to the
site with his shirt back on, Sora was asleep once again. He sat beside her and
stared at her, deep in thought. What was wrong with her ribs? He wondered, his
gaze on her becoming serious.
“Matt?” He heard a voice
say. Matt’s head snapped toward the source of the voice. Gabumon had just woken
up, so it seemed, and was looking at him curiously. “This is no hour to be
awake.” Matt raised an eyebrow and leaned forward into a more comfortable
position.
“So, why are you up?” he
shot back, trying his hardest not to be rude. Gabumon waddled over to Matt and
sat beside him.
“I know what’s wrong, Matt.”
He said with a sigh.
“What? Nothing’s wrong.”
Gabumon shook his head and looked at Matt with deep concern.
“Matt. You know Sora has a
boyfriend. She is supposed to be committed to Tai. And you know that.”
Matt sighed deeply and
looked at Sora, then Gabumon again. “I know. I know! But, you don’t
understand!”
“What don’t I understand,
Matt? I’m your best friend! I should be able to understand!”
“Gabumon, you’ve never been
in love before. You can’t possibly know what I’m going through. All I am now is
second rate. Second rate Next to... next to...”
“Tai.” Said Gabumon Quietly.
Matt winced, as if even the slightest mention of Tai were like some horrible
curse word
“It’s like Tai is trying to,
ruin my life or something! Everything he does never benefits in my favor!”
“That’s not true, Matt! It
benefits us all, even though it may not seem like it at the time, he does have
a good head on his shoulders, you must realize that-“
“What? Now you’re taking his side!?” Matt choked. “Are you gonna go
join Tai and try to become his
Digimon?! Tell Me!” Matt sniffled and wiped his eyes free of tears. Gabumon
looked to the ground, defeated.
“I wish I could. But, if
that’s the way you want it, you can figure out your problem alone.” Gabumon
stood up and walked back over to the spot he was minutes ago. Matt sighed
shakily and looked to the ground.
“I don’t have a problem...”
He denied himself. He then looked to the stars, his eyes glassy. “Do I?”
The next morning, Sora was
awake before anyone. She knew she had to report back to Pixie first thing to
give her the crest of Friendship. Within minutes, Sora was back in the castle,
as though her thoughts had been read. When Sora looked around the room she was
in, she recalled being in the room with the tube in the center and her being in
it. And she was. An aggravated Pixie stood before her, outside of the tube,
with the purple mirror in hand.
“Step out, Sora.” She
hissed. Sora searched around the tube and eventually found the hatch to which
she could exit. “Where is the crest?” Pixie spat once Sora had left the tube.
She took the tag and crest out from her shirt and off from around her neck and
handed it to Pixie, who snatched it from her hand the instant it was within
reach.
“You’ll be pleased to know
that I had no trouble at all retrieving the crest for you.” Sora reported
cheerfully. Pixie turned to leave the room and gave a nod of approval. As Pixie
left the room she slipped the crest around her neck and looked into her mirror,
as if admiring herself. Sora trotted up to her and looked into the mirror to
see Matt Sleeping peacefully. She smiled slightly and remembered Pixie standing
next to her and pulled her smile down off her lips as if it were a ten ton bag
of cement.
“This is the creature you
stole from, is this correct?” Sora nodded and looked back into the mirror. “I
said, ‘Is this correct’?!” Sora looked up from the mirror and at Pixie,
swallowing hard as she did so.
“Yes master Pixie. It is.”
This brought a pleased smirk to Pixie’s lips as they walked on. Pixie made a
right turn into the room where most of Sora’s training had occurred.
“Your next mission is to
take the crest of Sincerity. Will this be an uneasy task?” Pixie asked,
stopping in the center of the room.
“No Master, I assure you,
this shall be twice as easy as stealing from that spineless romantic, Matt.”
Sora Reported.
“Good, I expect nothing but
the best, and nothing less.” Pixie lay her mirror flat on her palms and turned
in the Southern direction. When she looked upon the face of the mirror, she saw
two people. The taller human had just sat down on a log to rest. The shorter
one decided to join her and began typing away on his Yellow and white laptop.
“Oh, Izzy. I’m beginning to
think We’ll Never find Sora!” The tall human said, taking off her large pink
cowboy hat. The one at the laptop looked up from his work and at the one
sitting on the log.
“We mustn’t think such
negative thoughts, Mimi. I am positive she is alive and well, hoping we
wouldn’t worry so.” Izzy stepped out from behind the laptop and walked to Mimi,
placing an arm around her. “We must continue our search until she is found, and
not give up hope a single step of the way.” Mimi looked up at Izzy, her eyes
slowly filling with tears.
“You’re right, I want to
make sure that My best friend is safe! We have to continue. For Sora.” Izzy
smiled and hugged Mimi.
“There we go. Atta girl.”
Almost instinctively, Izzy placed his lips on Mimi’s cheek and kissed it
softly. Almost immediately afterward, he had realized he had just showed Mimi
how he felt for her. His eyes went wide as he blinked and blushed wildly.
Mimi blushed lightly and
looked at him shyly. “It’s okay Izzy.” She said as she scooted toward him.
“Don’t be so shy about it. There’s, uh, something I need to tell you though.”
Izzy swallowed hard and
looked at her. “Wh-what is it?”
Mimi leaned over and placed
her lips firmly on his and kissed him passionately. This caught Izzy totally
off guard and he began to sweat nervously. Mimi wrapped her arms around his
neck and held him closer to her. Izzy began to succumb to the pleasure and
thrill of the kiss and slid his arms around her waist. As Mimi ran her fingers
through Izzy’s reddish-brown hair, she pulled away from his soft tender lips
and gazed into his eyes. Izzy swallowed hard again and fainted.
“Eek! Izzy! Izzy! Speak to
me!” she shrieked, fanning Izzy with her hat.
“Go.” Pixie snapped, her
glare fixed on the mirror.
“What? How?” Pixie looked
over her shoulder at Sora.
“Take out your crest,” Sora
reached inside her shirt and pulled out her tag and crest. The crest was
glowing a dark black glow. Sora looked at her crest, which was now transformed
into a different one. When the crest spun around, Sora got a good look at the
carving engraved on it’s surface. The same ancient heart shape was still there,
but with what looked like a long sword plunged through the side of it.
“I see you have discovered
the transfiguration.” Pixie said at Sora’s reaction. “You no longer bear the
crest of Love, but the one of deception. Sora, this crest only offers power if
you know how to harness it. You have done so already.”
“But... I thought my crest
was made of stone.” Sora said dumbstruck.
“I have concluded that the
crest only reflects the one who’s neck it is around. You have become evil, and
so has your crest. I’ll finish the expatiation later. But now it is time to
leave this castle.”
“But how do I do that?”
Pixie walked over to Sora
and held the mirror up for her to look into. “Now, stare at the mirror and concentrate
on the location.” Sora stared at the mirror and paid very little attention to
Pixie, but still acknowledged her presence. The crest of Deception began to
give it’s shadowy glow once again. But when Sora blinked, she was outside of
the castle, back in the dense forest. She looked around the area and then down
at her crest, which had stopped glowing. Sora looked behind her and saw Mimi
fanning Izzy with her hat with her back to her.
“Oh, dear! How could this
have happened?!” Mimi said helplessly. Sora smirked and strode over to Mimi and
tapped her shoulder. “Ahhhh!!!” She yelled.
“Relax Mimi! It’s only me!”
Sora said with a sweatdrop. Mimi looked behind her and gasped at Sora.
“Sora! You’re here!” She
yelled excitedly, nearly dropping Izzy as she stood. “I’m so glad to see you!”
Sora smiled, thinking this steal would be easier than the last. Sora looked
over Mimi and at Izzy, forcing a concerned face.
“Oh, Dear!” She said. “What
happened to Izzy?!” Sora ran around her and kneeled next to Izzy.
“He, just.. got hot and
fainted!” Mimi lied with a sweatdrop.
“Is he going to be okay?”
“He should be.” Mimi said
glancing at Izzy, who, as if on cue moaned weakly and woke up. Sora looked at
him and smiled, thinking of ways to get his crest as well as Mimi’s.
“Two beautiful Angels have
come for me Tentomon. I concede the one on the left is Sora. and the other, She
resembles Mimi, just as beautiful as when I left her.” Izzy Droned, looking at
the two girls, who released a giggle. “But, I do not want to leave the
comforting arms of Mimi, My love... Flee from me Angels! Leave me to the one I
love!” Mimi and Sora giggled again and walked to Izzy.
“Oh, Izzy. You aren’t dead.
I hope.” Mimi said, lifting Izzy off the ground.
“But... the kiss. It was so heavenly!”
Izzy sighed to her.
“So, looks like your wish
came true Mimi!” Sora said, sitting down on the log Mimi and Izzy were on
minutes ago.
“Mimi!” A green plant-like
Digimon with a large beautiful flower on her head approached the three with
Tentomon, carrying all assorts of food and drinks. “We found some food for
you!”
“Wow! You did a great job
Palmon!” Mimi praised, taking her hold off Izzy to let him sit up. “Look at
this! Cola, chips, fish, and fruit!”
Izzy smiled at Mimi and
stood up. “Prodigious!” He exclaimed happily. “This food should last us a day
or two, depending on how we ration.”
Tentomon flew over to Sora
and poked her hat with one of his giant singular claws. “Sora! It’s really
you!” His high and semi-shaky voice cheered “We have been searching for days
for you! You wouldn’t believe it, we searched every where! We even had to pull
Mimi out of a small space between big rocks!”
Sora faked a smile. “I’m so
glad to hear you guys care for me, I feel so loved.” Tentomon looked deeply
into her face.
“Is there something
different about you, Sora?”
“Well, I have been working
out a bit the past few days.”
Izzy waked over to the rock
where his laptop teetered and picked it up and looked onto the screen and then
at Sora. “Well, you do look considerably stronger.”
“Thank you, Izzy!” Sora said
blushing lightly.
“Well, are you three gonna
eat or is all this great food gonna go to waste?” Mimi asked eating an apple.
About fifteen minutes later,
They had eaten all that they could and were relaxing in the afternoon sun.
“Ah, this is the life,” Mimi
sighed happily
“All we need is some
tropical trees, some sand and salty water!” Tentomon exclaimed from a tree.
Everyone nodded in agreement
and stared at the clouds when a thought struck Sora like a lightning bolt. She
needed to get the crests from Mimi and Izzy before Pixie found out she was
being lazy on the job.
“Hey, Izzy, Tentomon,
Palmon. Can I speak to Mimi alone for a few?” Izzy looked at Sora curiously and
stood up.
“Alright. Call us when
you’re finished, we’ll be at the stream. Come on.” Izzy cocked his head for the
Digimon to follow him and they nodded and followed him.
The two girls stood up and
yawned.
“So, Sora. What did you want
to talk about?” Asked Mimi
“Well...it’s about your
crest.”
“My Crest?”
“Yeah, give it to me.” She
hissed, her eyes growing dark.
“What?! No way!”
“Don’t make me have to take
it from you, Mimi.”
“Why? What will you do?”
Mimi became frightened, she had never seen Sora like this and hoped she never
would.
Sora growled and tackled
Mimi who let out an attempted scream, but was quickly snuffed by Sora’s hand
clamping over her mouth.
Mimi Tried to bite Sora’s
hand but she didn’t seem affected that much by it. Sora Pulled Mimi up by her
shawl and kneed her in the nose.
“Augh!!” Mimi yelped,
staggering backward and holding her nose, but quickly letting go.
“Aw, did I break your nose?
I’m soooooo Sorry!” Sora asked in a mocking tone and then laughed evilly.
Mimi looked at Sora angrily
and ran toward her. Sora saw what she was doing and picked up a fairly large
stick from the ground and hopped on the rock.
As Mimi ran towards her,
Sora jumped from the rock and past Mimi, thrusting her arms forward and hitting
her in between the shoulder blades with the stick, hearing a loud crack as the
stick broke. Mimi cried out in pain and landed on the rock, her nose bleeding
immensely. Sora walked to Mimi and threw the broken stick to the ground.
“Listen, Bitch. Give me your
God Damned Crest!” With that, Sora grabbed onto Mimi’s head and bashed her
forehead into the rock, knocking her unconscious.
Sora Grabbed The Crest
string and ripped it off of Mimi’s neck, then pocketing it.
“Heh, Heh. Master Pixie’s
going to like your crest weakling.” She sneered.
“Sora! Mimi!” Izzy called
running toward them. “I heard Screaming and I- Oh my GOD! MIMI!” He Yelled,
running to her unconscious body. “What Happened?!”
Palmon ran to Mimi as well
and began to shake her. “Mimi! Mimi! Please Wake up!”
Tentomon flew over to Sora
and looked at her desperately. “What Happened to her? Do you know?”
Sora Nodded and picked up
the broken stick she had hit Mimi with. “Yeah! Some person came over and hit
her with this stick.” She said sympathetically. Then looking at Tentomon
angrily. “Like THIS!” She raised the broken stick above her head and crashed
into Tentomon’s head. The Digimon Fainted immediately from the strike to his
head. Izzy wheeled around on his heel at the sound of the crash and looked at
Sora’s knee which was covered in blood from kneeing Mimi.
“SORA! You didn’t!” She
spat.
“She’s responsible for
Mimi!” Palmon hissed.
“Yeah, so what? You think
you two are going to stop me from achieving my goal?”
“Your...goal?” Izzy wondered
with an eyebrow raised.
“Yes, My goal. That is all
you need to know.”
“Sora, Please, Tell us
what’s wrong”
“Yes, Sora! Please!” Pleaded
Palmon.
“I’m sorry, I cannot give
you that information.”
“Oh, Yeah?! Poison ivy!”
Yelled Palmon, extending her long green and purple vines and wrapping Sora with
them.
“Now, Sora.” Izzy said
calmly walking forward. “Please, Tell me, why did you hurt Mimi?”
“That is not of your
concern!” She spat.
“Actually, it is. You see. I
love Mimi and I cannot let anyone else hurt her.”
“You’re so weak. Believing
in this so-called ‘love’.”
“What are you talking about,
Sora?! Have you forgotten that you are the digidestined of love?!”
“Not anymore.”
“I’m confused.” Palmon
wondered.
“As am I.” Izzy agreed. “But
that’s beside the point. I just want to know why Sora attacked Mimi!”
“As before, I cannot give you
that information.” Palmon growled and tightened her grip on Sora, causing her
to scream out in pain. Sora’s crest Began to Glow once more and blinded both
Izzy and Palmon. The next thing Palmon knew was that she was shrinking rapidly
as she de-digivolved into her in-training form, Tanemon. The Tiny leaf Digimon
whimpered and waddled to Izzy.
“Izzy... I feel so weak...”
she sighed.
Izzy rubbed his eyes and
looked down at Tanemon. “I’m sorry.” He apologized as if her de-digivolving was
his fault. Sora Saw this to her advantage and ran to Izzy and wrapped her right
arm around his neck and put her left hand on the back of his neck.
“Give me your crest.” She
hissed
Izzy choked and tried to
pull Sora’s arm off from around his neck. “Never...” He managed to choke out.
She Glared at him and tightened her grip and applied more pressure to the back
of his neck. Izzy’s Vision became darker and darker as he struggled for each
breath.
The last few sentences Izzy
heard Sora say to him before he blacked out were, “I could just kill you now. I
would just love to hear your weak little neck snap like a twig. But. The
mistress didn’t give me orders to destroy you. But, I think She’ll do the
honors herself.” Sora’s Arm twitched and Izzy felt himself hit the ground, but
no pain came. Only Darkness
