Saga I
                           IntothePast!

                             part I

"Lii-iz!  Matt just pulled up in the driveway!  Hurry up!"  Sora called
to her daughter.
"I know I know I know!  I'm hurrying!  Just a min, okay?"  Liz fumbled
around in her brother's room, straightening it out, which she had been doing
for the past hour and a half.  Daisu, her brother, was off at swim camp, and
wouldn't be back for two weeks.  And the "convienicency" (as her mother
called it) was that her Uncle Matt were going to Canada for work for a
little over a week, she didn't know what for, and her cousin Wix was going
to stay in her brother's room until they came back.
    DING DONG!  Hooboy, they're here!
"Hi Matt, Wix.  Come on in!"  she heard her mother say.
"Sorry, but we can't stay long.  My plane leaves in... an hour, and you
know the rest.  Her Uncle Matt said.  "Yeah, but thanks anway!  Thanks alot
for taking Wix.  We were going to ask Takeru, but, well, you said you
could."
"Of course no problem!"  Sora smiled.  "Um, LII-IZ!  Wix is Here!"
Liz came bounding down the stairs, and almost slipped and fell, but stumbled
upright and hugged her Uncle and Aunt.
"Hey there Liz."  Matt hugged her.
    "Hey Unc M."  Liz grinned.
"Ok, listen to this one thing.  Wix gives off this really smelly oder
every night after 9 o'clock, but in the morning he's fine.  'kay?"  Matt
joked.
    "Dad!"  Wix turned red.
    "What?  Hey Sora, where's Tai?"
    "Work."  Sora sighed.
"Oh.  Well, tell him I say hi.  Well, gotta go now, see you in a couple
weeks!"
"Bye dad, I'll miss ya.  Not!"  Wix grinned and the father and son
hugged each other.  Then Matt hugged Sora and Liz, and left.
"C'mon upstairs Wix!"  Liz motioned, and the boy bounded up after her.
"I'll show you Daisu's bedroom."

                     *           *            *

"Oh, this show's funny.  Oh, but this is a baaad episode, switch it."
Wix said to Liz.  It was nighttime, and the two cousins were watching TV in
Daisu's bedroom.
    "Yeah."  Liz switched around.
"Kids?"  Sora opened the bedroom door.  "Geez you're not even in your
PJs!  Oh well... did you brush your teeth?  Good.  Ok, I want you in bed...
" she looked at her watch, "now."
    "Moo-om!  It's summer!"  Liz groaned.
"So what?  I want you in bed now.  It's almost 11:30.  And you're not
even in your pajamas."  Sora looked at her sternly.
"Oh, all right."  Liz stood up and switch the TV off.  Her mother left
the room.
"Well, be sure not to go into the closet, 'kay?  Cause it smells like
hell in there, and I am SO serious."  Liz told Wix.
"Sure."  Wix grinned.  "But, I already put my bag in there.  Doesn't
smell that bad t'me."
"Well, of course!  How could I forget?  You're a boy, too."
"Shut up!"  he threw a pillow at her.  "Oh!  I have this really cool
book I wanna show you!  Let me get it... it's in my backpack- which is
in.... dumdumduuum!  The CLOSET!"  he made a horror face.
    "Shut up!"
    "Nya naa-ah!"
    "Rrrggh!"
"Ok ok sorry!"  He opened the closet door, and looked around in his
backpack, and brought out a little white book.
"Oh my gosh... Wix, get away from the closet!"  Liz ran over to him and
grabbed his shoulder.  A little glow of light she saw in the corner of the
closet was growing bigger and bigger until in engulfed them.  A large,
tremoring sound filled the room like a fly or bee buzzing around.  Then
they're eyes were blinded and then there was total blackness...

"Liz, wake UP!"  Liz woke up- Wix was shaking her.  She looked around.
They were in the town park, sitting on a bench, and it was daylight.  "What
the hell happened?"  she demanded.
"I dont' know!  I just woke up here.  I don't know what time it is."
"Yeah... my watch says it's midnight.  And it doesn't look like it's
midnight."  Liz looked at her watch, and back up.
"It seems more like dawn or somethink."
    "Ditto."
"Let's take a look around."  Liz got up and started walking.
"Hey you!"  they looked around and saw a blond kid running up to Wix.
    "Who me?"  Wix asked, confused.
"Whoa! You look just like my big bro when he was my age almost."  the
boy realized.
    "Oh yeah?"
"Yeah.  Just who are ya anyways?  Is your last name Ishida?"  the kid
asked.
"Um, ah, no!  It's, uh, Tokonoshi.  My name's Wix.  "
"My name's Takeru!  Or T.K.  Takeru Ishida.  And in case you're
wondering, my bro's name is Matt.  Or Yamato.  Whichever."
"Are you kidding me!"  Wix cried out.  "Holy crap!  Liz, isn't uncle,
and dad, y'know?"
    "Yep."  Liz said calmly.
"Um, just a sec Takeru"  Wix pulled Liz aside.  "Ok, is it just me or
does that kid sound, look, and has the exact same name as our Uncle Takeru
when he was about 12 years old!"
    "Yep!"  Liz nodded vigourasly.
"Freaky."  he went back to Takeru.  "Hey, you don't happen to know a
Taichi and Sora, do you?"
"Yeah I do why?"  Takeru replied.
Wix looked to the side again.  He started breathing heavily and then
went over to a tree and started banging it on the trunk.  He didn't stop.
"Is he ok?"  Takeru asked Liz.
"Yeah, he's fine!  Don't worry, I'll take care of him.  He's just having
a weird day!"  Liz smiled nervously.
    "Ok."  Takeru said.
    "Yep."
"Uhm, I think you better stop him over there... "  he pointed out.
"OK!  Oop, Wix, stop it!  You're gonna hurt yourself, and bad!"  Liz
grabbed him away from the tree and shook him.
"S-sorry Liz.  I don't know what's wrong with me."  Wix sat down on the
ground.
    "S'okay cuz."
    "You're cousins?"  T.K. asked.
    "Kindof."  Liz said.
"Huhn.  You look like somebody I know, Liz."
    "Who?"
    "A girl named Sora."
    "Aaaaaaaaaaaa-!!"  Wix started yelling.
"Shut up Wix!"  Liz clapped her hand around his mouth.
"Mmmm!!"  Wix gasped for air and Liz let go of him.
"Hey, Takeru!"  Wix and Liz looked and saw someone running up to T.K.
And he looked exactly like Wix.  Or, Wix looked exactly like him.  He also
looked about the age of sixteen.
"Matt!"  Takeru cried out, surprised.  "Whatchya doin' here?"
"Are you ok Takeru?  Hikari told me about what happened at the park."
Matt looked concerned.
"Yeah, I'm ok!  Really, don't worry about me, hu?  I'm okay!"  Takeru
glared at him.
"What just happened there though?  I wanna know."  Matt asked.
"Well, I dropped my, uhm, crest on the ground and he kicked it away, and
one of his buddies picked it up, but I retrieved it, and we got inna fight
'n' stuff.  That's all."
"What?!"  Liz shot up from the ground.  "Did you say the word 'crest'?"
she asked.  "Oh my gosh... "
"Who are you?"  Matt asked her rudely.
"My name is Liz."  she stuck her nose up in the air.
"And what do you know about crests?"  Matt asked snottily.
"That I have one!"  and she pulled her crest out under her shirt.
"Where'd you get that."  Matt asked calmly.  "Answer me!"
"I got it from my parents.  My dad, kindof.  What do you know about
crests?"
"I have one too."  And he pulled his out under his shirt.
"You carry that around with you Liz?"  Wix jumped up, bewildered.  "My
dad took his back.  Well, actually he took it.  Uncle T. let you keep it?"
"Of course!  We took their places, didn't we?"
"Whoa."  Matt was staring at Wix.  "You look exactly like... like me
when I was a kid."
"Uh, yeah, I guess."  Wix scratched his head.  "What's your name?"
    "Yamato.  Matt acutally."
    "Last?"
    "Ishida."
"Ohmigod.  Ohmigod.  Oh, my, GOD!"  Wix cried out.
"Settle down Wix!  It's ok, we'll figure something out!"  Liz held him
back.
"What do you mean settle down?  He looks, has the exact same name, and
even SMELLS like my father!  And he looks like our uncle!"  he pointed to
Takeru
"What are you talking about?"  Matt asked.
"And he has... he has the Crest of Friendship.  How much more accurate
can you be than that?  Don't you realize it?  We've, like, somehow traveled
back into time!  And that-"  he pointed to Matt.  "-is my father, Yamato
Ishida, as a teenager!"
"You're insane."  Matt shook his head.
"Oh really?  Then why do we look exactly alike?  And-"  and pulled
somethingout from his shirt "-bam!  Crest of Friendship."
    "What?"
"What?"  Liz said.  "I thought you said your dad took it back!"
"Yeah, but he gave it to me right before I got to your house."
"Hey over there guys!  Hi Matt, hi Takeru, hi Sora!"
"Huh?  Sora?"  Liz turned around.  She saw a brown haired boy, about the
same age as Matt, running up to them.  He had very large hair thick hair,
and a friendly, sort of sarcastic looking face, yet nice and somewhat calm.
He had a soccer ball in one arm and waved to them with the other.
"Huh?  Oh sorry, you're not Sora, you just look alot like her!"  and the
kid laughed.
    "Ohmigod."  Liz froze.
"Liz?  Lii-iz.  Wake up!  Snap!  Bam!"  Wix waved his hands in front of
her eyes.
"Sorry Wix... "  she said, still staring at the brown haired boy.
"Tai, guess what?  Both these kids have crests... and their Friendship
and Courage.  I still have mine and I feel it's mine too!  I don't know who
the hell they but-but... "  Matt threw out an accusing hand at the two
cousins.
"What?"  Tai cried out.  "Ok, who are you guys?  And what're you?"
"We're humans!  But... it's hard to explain!  We don't even know what's
going on here."  Wix sat down on a bench.  "My name is Wix.  And this is
Liz."
"We were up in my brother's room one day when he opened the closet and-
"
"A bright flashing light sort of swollowed us up and... we appeared
here.  Out in the park."
"And we have no idea what's going on.  We have no idea if this has
something to do with the digiworld or not."
"Hey!"  Wix brightened up.  "OK, if you beleive about the digiworld,
then you have to beleive every word we say that we know about this happening
so far, 'kay?  You have GOT to beleive us!  Please."
"I-I... um, *sigh*  Fine, w-I'll beleive and listen to you."  Tai
decided, nodding at them.
"Awsome!"  Liz grinned.  "Let's go somewhere not out into the open."
"The soccer field.  It's only-"  Tai looked at his watch "-8:30 am.  Not
many people are around the soccer field right now usually.  C'mon, let's
go!"
"Cool."  Wix and Liz and Tai ran off into the center of the field.  Matt
just stared at them, bewildered at Tai.
"Ugh!  I'm gonna get out of here.  C'mon Takeru."  And he crossed the
street with his little brother- who followed unsurely -and stormed away.
"Ok Taichi.  You see, we told you how we got here, right?"  Liz started.
    "Yep."  he said.
"Cool.  Ok, we realized who you, Matt, and T.K. are in our lifetime."
    "What?"  Tai asked, confused.
"Matt... "  Wix sighed heavily.  "H-he's my father.  And T.K, he's my
uncle.  And you're my uncle too.  We figured out we... um, came from the
future."
"And in that future you're my father."  Liz looked at Tai, whose mouth
had dropped and he had froze.  "Sora is my mother.  And we don't know why
we're here, and we neither have a good idea why either."
"W-wh... "  Tai was a loss for words.

    "Matt!  Matt!"
Matt turned around and saw Tai running torward him.
"What do you want?  Don't tell me you actually beleived the stuff they
said to you."
"Matt, you have to beleive them!  They have our crests.  They're telling
the truth.  You just don't want to admit it!  Please, you have to beleive
them.  Besides, they gave me more proof.  Something about me that I've never
told anyone but, but Izzy."  Tai grabbed his shoulder, trying to make him
listen.
    "Oh yeah, what?"  Matt scorned.
"That I... that Kari almost died once when she was really little."
"What?!"
"It's true.  I'll tell you about it later.  And, um... oh yeah, Wix, he
told me that he knew something about you."
    "What?"
"He didn't tell me.  He said he wants to talk to you alone.  He's right
over there."  Tai pointed to a bench, on which Liz and Wix were conversing.
Matt sighed and crossed his arms stubbornly.  He dropped them, and turned to
Tai, eyes on the ground.
    "Fine.  I'll talk to him."
"Thanks alot Matt.  Wix!  Liz!  Get over here!"  Tai yelled to the two.
"Yo, wassup?"  Liz made a quick peace sign.
"Hi."  Matt looked to the side.
"Ready to talk."  Wix asked.  Matt looked at him.  He did look
extrordinarily like hisself at thirteen/fourteen.  And he did have the Crest
of Friendship.
    "Yeah,"  Matt said.  "guess so."
    "Good.  Wanna go walk?"
    "Sure."
"Hey Liz, I'll meet you right at that bench in a little bit, 'kay?"
    "Whatever!"  Liz said brightly.
"See ya."  The two cousins extended their hands, snapped their fingers
and made thumbs up at each other.  Then Wix and Matt went off.
"Hope they get along."  Tai said.
    "Yeah."

"So, what do you know about me?"  Matt sneered.
"Your parents are divorced, righto?"  Wix asked.
    "Yeah."
    "That's one thing I know."
"What else?  Tai could've just told you that."
"But he didn't.  I already knew, even if he had."
    "You're creepin' me out man."
    "Cool."
    "So go on."
"Right.  I also know that... oh yeah, your dad used to stay out late and
drink beer and then come home, your parents would fight, then you would get
involved with them, and he would beat you."
"Who the hell are you."  Matt stopped in his tracks, looked at Wix,
fuming.  "How'd you know that!"
    "I'm your son."
    "How'd you know that?!"
"You told me one night.  When my mom, your wife, beat me."
"What?"  Matt bit his lip, trembling all over.
"Sit down Matt, please?  You're gonna lose it."  Wix sat Matt down on a
bench behind them.
"One night my mom came home from work.  She was acting weird lately.
She was kindof staggering.  But, someone was with her, and it wasn't dad.  I
mean you.  I guess... "  Wix swollowed, eyes red.  "that she was cheating
dad.  They kissed and then the guy left.  Then mom saw me peepin' out the
door of my room.  She ran torward me, a-and, s-she, she started threatening
me about if I told dad.  She hit and beat and spat at me damn hurtful.  And
just not physically.
"I went to bed, but I only got a couple hours of sleep before school
started.  I had a terrible day.  I came home, mom was gone.  I didn't know
dad was home.  I started crying on the couch.  Just sobbing.  Then dad came
in.  He saw my black and blue marks.  One on my leg, cheek, and arm.  Asked
me what happened.  I told him after a while.  Then he told me about... when
his dad beat him.  Him an' mom got divorced a year or two ago.  I live with
dad.  That's my sob story.  I alreayd know yours Matt.  Or dad.  But not
yet."  Wix turned away from his future father and wiped his eyes.
"I-I'm sorry Wix... "  Matt looked away, and then back.  He put his
hand on the other boy's shoulder.
"It's ok.  Who cares?  I'm fine now.  I have my family."
"Like who?  Do you have a brother?"
"Nope.  But I have my cousins.  Daisu and Liz mainly.  We three are
really close.  Daisu is Tai's kid.  He's sixteen right now.  And Liz is
fourteen.  It was a year ago we went to Digiworld.  Oh, there's Yamo, who's
nine, he's named after you, Yamato, but we call him Yamo.  And then there's
his older sis, Mika, who's 12.  They're T.K's and Kari's children."
     "What're they like?"
     "Kids."
     "What?"
"Never mind.  Let's get going, Liz is probably wondering what I told
you."
     "Right."
"Do you beleive me now, do you?"
     "Of course."
     "Good."
"Now all we need is to figure out how to get you back home."
     "Well, you know Izzy right?"
     "Take me to."
     "Good idea Wi- er, 'son'."
The two walked off, arm over each others' shoulders, grinning.
