                         part III

      "Um, Tai?"
      "Yeah Liz?"
"Where are me and Wix going to stay tonight?"  she asked in an annoyed
tone.
"Oh... I never thought of that... shoot.  I have no idea!  One of you
might stay at my house, there's SO nothing going on there, and my mom is
pretty easygoing about having people overnight last minute."
"Cool.  But which one of us?"  Wix asked.
"Um... which one of you would want to come?"  the other boy shrugged.
"Liz would."  Wix answered for her.
"Um... okay!  Thanks for telling me... "  Liz sighed.
"And I'll just bum around town until midnight and then sleep in the
park!"
"You can't do that Wix, it's dangerous!"  Liz cried out.  "I mean...
not to mention, um, squirrls or chipmunks who're um, who might bite you all
the time but there might be a, um, a policeman!"
"Wow... scary."  he rolled his eyes.
"Lions and tigers and bears... "  Tai groaned.  "We can't have you
stay at Matt's, Wix.  You look too much like him.  But... staying in the
park isn't a good idea either... maybe- "
"I'll just stay in the park, ok?  No trouble about that!  Just don't
belyache over it.  I'll be fine.  And don't say ONE word Liz."  Wix burst
out, inturrupting Tai.
"Well, whatever you say!"  Tai shrugged.
"Thanks alot!"  Liz snapped at him.
      "You welcome!"  he sweatdropped.

                  *              *               *

      "Mom, I'm hoo-ome!"
"Oh hi Tai!  Just in time!"
      "In time for what?"
"Cookies!"  Kari yelled at the top of her lungs.
"Geez Kari, don't scream like that!  I think you've had one too many
cookies... how many has she had mom?"
      "Two."
"Oh... uh, mom?  This is my friend Liz!  And I was wondering if she
could stay with us for this one night?"
"Uhm, hi!"  Liz grinned and stuck out her hand.
"Oh hello Liz!  Nice to meet you!  I would shake your hand, only my
hands are full of cookie dough!"  Mrs. Kamiya said brightly.  "And you're
very welcome to stay with us tonight, we'd be glad to have a visitor.  I
hope you like lasanga."
"Oh... I love lasanga!"  Liz kissed her fingers.
"That's good... c'mon Liz, I'll show you my room."  Tai grabbed her
hand.
"Ok!"  she followed.  "Oh my gosh... what a mess!"
"Hey, buzz off, huh?"  Tai grinned, have amused, half annoyed.
"Hey... that Kari in there?"  Liz said in a half-whisper.
      "Uh... yeah."
"Wow... she sure looks alot like Mika... er, Mika looks alot like
her!"
      "Who's Mika?"
"My cousin.  Daughter to Kari and Takeru."
"Whoa, those two got married?!  Well... I can see why actually.  Ha,
poor Daisuke is probably devastated... "
      Liz laughed at this.
"Well, he'll find love eventually... because he has a daughter,
Tamiko.  Or Tami."
      "Oh."  Tai raised his eyebrows.

"Mmm... this is really really good Mrs. Kamiya!"
"Thank you Liz!  What a nice thing to say."
"Sure!  Well, I suppose anybody could be a better cook than my dad...
"  Liz grinned, taking another bite.
Everyone laughed, except for Tai, who realized what she had said, and
gave her an evil look.
"Do you have any siblings?"  Mr. Kamiya asked.
"Yep, one brother, Daisu.  He's sixteen, Tai's age.  I'm fourteen
actually."  Liz replied.
"Oh really?  Hmm, hitting on the young girls, huh Tai?"  Mr. Kamiya
joked.
      "Dad!!"  Tai sweatdropped.  "C'mon!"
      "Just joking, just joking!"
"You guys can have cookies after this and watch a movie or some TV if
you'd like."  Mrs. Kamiya said, switching the subject.
"Thanks mom.  But I think I'll turn in early, if that's ok with Liz.
Liz?"  Tai turned to her.
"Yeah... I'm pretty tired too.  It's what right now?  Eight?  How
about at nine Tai?"  she asked.
      "Cool with me."
      "Ok."

Nine O'clock...

"*yawn*  I'm sooo tired... "  Liz flopped down on her sleeping bag.
Tai had lent her a pair of his pajama's.
"Yeah... in the morning, we gotta find Wix and then call Izzy and try
to get you guys home!"  Tai yawned.
"Goood... "  Liz drifted away in sleep.
"Um, ok, g'night!"  Tai turned off the lamp.
       "Nightsy."  Liz said sleepily.
       "Riiight."

                    *             *              *

       Ring-Ring!
       Ring-Ring!
       Click-!
       "Hello, Kamiya residence."
       "Tai?"
"Oh hi Izzy!  What's up?"  Tai asked happily.
"Quite alot... Wix came over, and we went on a walk.  Then, we saw
something very unusual in the park.  I suggest very highly that you and Wix
come down her right away!!"  Izzy said very quickly.
       "Why?"
"Tai, don't argue!  Just hurry, okay?"  and with a click, the other
line was dead.
"Izzy?  Izzy!"  Tai slammed down the phone and sighed.  He waited a
moment, and then called his mother.  "Um, mom?  We've gotta go now, ok?  Liz
has to go home, remember Liz?"
"I do?  Uh yeah, I do!"  she sprung up.  "Thanks for everything Mrs.
Kamiya, I'll see you soon!  Bye Kari!"
Then Tai grabbed her and they ran out the door.
"Um... bye!"  Mrs. Kamiya said, confused as ever.  She sighed...
"Kids!"

"Izzy!  Izzy?  Where are you Izzy?"
"Tai, over here!"  It was Matt's voice.  "Over here!"  Then Tai saw
him.
"Hey Matt, what's going on?"  the two teenagers ran up to him.
"Well, look over there... "  Matt pointed.
In the middle of the fountain park, there was a huge, black hole.
And, right that second, a figure began to come out of it. A very... digital
figure.
