"What say we up it a notch?" Gohangamon turned the dial
a little more,
between LOW and MEDIUM. The vibrations picked up. It began to
seriously
hurt. Her body felt ached from all the tiny movements. This wasn't
going to
be easy. "TAKERU!"
"KARI!" Takeru yelled.
"Where the hell is she?!" Gatomon said, clenching
her paws.
Wizardmon suddenly fell to his knees, hands on his head.
"Argh! Ergh!"
"What's wrong Wizardmon?" Takeru said, rushing to
help him up.
"Felt… someone… crying out."
"Who?" Takeru said, hoisting Wizardmon up.
"I don't know, but I caught a flash of Kari for some
reason."
"Kari!?" Takeru said, unable to control
himself. "Where!?"
"Underground… I think."
"Well come on! We have to find her!"
Kari felt like she'd pass out at any moment. The dial had
been set to
HIGH, and it hurt worst then ever. Constantly, she found
herself thinking
about giving up and revealing the Digi-Destined's secrets, but she mentally
kicked herself each time. Finally, after what seemed like hours, the
vibrating stopped. Gohangamon wasn't pleased.
"I ask for one simple favor," he said muttered,
unstrapping Kari's limp
body. "Just give me a little information!" Kari fell from
the body suit,
too weak to move. "Is that so much to ask!" he yelled,
kicking Kari.
Gohangamon made a noise of disgust. "I'm going to have to go to
extreme
measures!"
Kari finally got back to reality, but then wished she'd stayed
asleep.
She was in a much larger chamber than the last. A huge machine with a
door
in it filled most of it.
"This is my crowning achievement. The F.D 2000.
It detects what would
scare you most, then confuses the brain into thinking that it's really
happening." Gohangamon explained
"Wha…?" Kari mumbled, confused at what was
happening. The vibrations had
shaken up her brain, everything kept going light and dark again.
"Just get in."
Kari was shoved inside. It was hot in here, or were those
weird,
electro-whatsis things still affecting her brain? She swayed, trying to
keep
her balance. I feel sick. I wish what's-his-name was here, he's
really nice
to me. Kari's vision blurred. Woah, what cool colors. She
squinted and saw
a bench. Hey, just what I need. Slowly, she wobbled to the bench,
and fell
on it instead of sitting.
"Ready to go? Last chance to `fess up." Gohangamon
said through a radio.
Hey, where'd that voice come from? Kari thought, fighting to get
up.
"No? OK then."
The room started spinning. Oh wow, I wonder what this thing
does? The
room spun faster and faster. Images formed. Kari fell from he
bench.
"Takeru, what're you doing?"
"I'm ending this."
"Ending what?"
CA-CLICK! Takeru had a gun in his hand, pointing at
her. "Everything."
Kari gasped too paralyzed in fear to move. "T-t-takeru,
why are you doing
th-this?"
Takeru laughed maniacally. "Why? Why!? I'll
tell you why, because I
hate you Kari. I've hated you since we first met Miss Goody Two Shoes!"
BLAM!
Takeru was running, looking for any passage downwards. Gato,
Pato, and
Wizard were trying to get him to slow down, but he was purposely…
"Woah!
Oomph!" Takeru had sailed through the air, and landed face first in
the
dirt. Wizardmon stopped by the rock he'd tripped on.
"There's a passage leading down!"
Takeru groaned, got up, and immediately began to climb down the
ladder.
"Wait!" Wzardmon said, grabbing Takeru's
hand. "We don't know what's
down there!"
"Let go of me! I have to save Kari!"
"Wizardmon clearly saw Takeru wasn't going to listen.
He let go.
Takeru jumped down. It was dark and cold. Pato, Gato
and Wizard also
jumped down.
"Can't see a thing down here." Patomon said,
squinting.
"I'm on it." Wiazrdmon said, lighting up the end
of his wand.
After a few minuets of random turns, they arrived at the chamber
with
Kari's Digivice and tag. "She was here." Gatomon
said. "Hey, what's that?"
she pointed to a glowing sliver of something wedged into the wall.
"Boom Bubble!" The wall burst forth, revealing a
Medallion with Kari's
crest sign on it.
Takeru grunted as he pulled out the heavy object. "I
think… this is
Kari's Medallion!"
"You bet it is! Come on! Kari's down here!"
Wizardmon turned to run…
then stopped short. "Which way?"
The Medallion Takeru had grabbed glowed, then shot out a ray of
light,
pointing to one of the exits. "Woah!" This must be the
Medallion's
secondary function!"
They set off, following the ray to Kari.
"Where am I?" Kari asked to no one.
Blackness surrounded her. Suddenly,
everything took shape. She was in the air, extremely high. Crap, I
hate
heights! She was floating, miles in the sky. To make things worst,
she
wasn't falling. "Aughhh!" Now she was falling! Kari
couldn't take the
feeling in her stomach, and vomited up her lunch. Then everything
stopped,
and she shot back up. Once again, she fell. "No!
Please! Stop!" she
sobbed.
Gohangamon was watching from outside, as Kari silently screamed,
imagining
she was falling.
"Hey! You!" Takeru yelled, bursting into the
cavern. "Ugh, what the hell
is that thing?"
"That's Gohangamon, an Ultimate Digimon." Gatomon
explained. "He's a
ruthless spider Digimon who finds some sort of sick pleasure torturing people
and Digimon."
Gohangamon jumped. Then turned around on his chair.
"Ah, I see you've
found out about my little lair.
"Get Kari out of there now!"
"Not without a fight! Leech Web'!" A web
shot from Gohangmon, hitting
Gatomon and latching her to the wall.
"Save Kari!" Gatomon shouted, trying to get
loose.
"Thunder Bolt!" Wizardmon shouted, sending a wave
of energy to Gohangamon.
"Oomph!" Gohangamon was hit squarely, but remained
standing. "Hah! What
a crappy attack!"
Takeru rushed to the control panel, mashing buttons, turning
dials, until
he heard the sound of motors stopping. Yes! The door opened,
and he rushed
in. "Kari!" She was on the floor, crying to
herself. Takeru carefully
lifted her head. "Kari, say something!" Kari opened her
eyes, and saw
Takeru.
"Augh! No! Don't shoot me!" Kari
cried, struggling to get loose.
"Kari stop, it's me Takeru! I'd never shoot you!"
She stopped fighting, and squinted. "I-It's really
you! Oh Takeru!" she
sobbed, getting on one knee and pulling him into a hug. "That
monster
tortured me. He tried to get secrets from me, but I didn't tell
him."
Takeru kneeled there, Kari sobbing on his shoulder. He
gently patted her
on the shoulder. "It's OK Kari. "You're safe now.
We have your Digivice
and Tag and Crest. We also found…" Takeru pulled the Medallion out
of his
pocket. "Your Medallion." Kari gasped, gently holding
onto her Medallion,
then put it her around her neck.
"If you two are done reuniting, I could use some
help!" Wizardmon was
pinned against the wall, deflecting Gohangamon's attacks with his staff."
"C`mon Kari, we've gotta little more fighting to do.
Kari scrambled up. "Nyaromon!" Her Digimon
had devolved from
Gohangamon's attack. Kari peeled the unconscious little Digimon from the
wall.
"Patomon, Digivolve to… Angemon!"
"Uh… this might be a little more challenging."
Gohangamon said nervously.
"Hand of Fate!"
"Thunder Bolt!"
Gohangamon dodged behind a rock. The rock blew up from the
combination of
attacks. He grabbed a gun from a table and aimed it at the group.
"Devolve or I'll pump you all full of poison
darts!" Everyone froze.
There was a moment of complete silence. Takeru though it
over, then
sighed. "He got us this time, Devolve." Takeru
mumbled. The angel became a
flying hamster again.
"That's more like it."
Wizardmon began to power up his wand. It glowed softly, then
brighter,
ready to shoot. "Eat this!" The bolt flew to Gohangamon,
knocking away his
gun.
Kari tucked Nyaromon under her arm. "Let's get out of
here!" Takeru held
up the Medallion of Light. It's laser like beam pointed to an exit.
The
sound of Gohangamon and Wizardmon battling echoed then abruptly stopped.
"I… hope… Wizardmon's…OK!" Patomon said between
breaths.
"He's a big Digimon, he can take care of
himself."
They reached the ladder leading up. It wasn't much darker over ground
then
under considering it was midnight.
"Wait." said a weak voice.
"Wizardmon!" Takeru said, rushing to help him
up. "What happened?"
"Fought him off… hurt him badly… but he's still alive."
"Don't worry about him. Raydromon will punish that
piece of crap for us.
Let's get out of here."
By dawn, they'd packed up, and were flying back to the mainland.
Kari cradled Nyaromon. "Hey Takeru."
"Yeah?"
"Thanks for rescuing me. I owe you one."
"No you don't. Being my friend makes us even."
"Really?" Kari said, looking up to him.
Takeru pulled her into a hug "Yeah."
Kari stopped walking. "That's sweet." She
stood there for another
moment, hugging Takeru. "Could you do me a favor?
"Sure. What?"
"Don't tell Tai what happened, OK?"
Takeru chuckled. "Sure."
End of Part 4
If you haven't noticed, my series is like the Harry Potter
books. They
keep getting longer. Don't be surprised if the last Part is as bigger
then
all the rest combined. Anyway, I'm at home for a week so I'll churn out
Part
5 as soon as possible. C`ya! Raze… out.
(My apoligies to celestia. My E-mail is acting up again, and I had to
send
this in two parts.)
