Hi y'all.  Raze here, OK, this is my very first Digimon action/romance story.
 It's going to be long.  This is part 1 of probably 6 or 7.  This story is
probably going to come out as PG-13 `cause it's got some curses and death in
it.  Oh, and I prefer to be called Raze to protect myself from evil stealth
karate ninjas




The New Evil Part: 1

    4 years after defeating the Dark Masters and Apacolomon, the
Digi-Destined were enjoying summer vacation.  At Tai's house, their parents
were out on their own vacation, and Tai as left in charge of Kari.  It was
record-breaking heat weather, and Tai was bored beyond reality.   
   "Hey Kari." Tai said.  "Wanna see a movie?"
   "There's nothing but crap playing."
   Tai got up and walked into his bedroom.  "Then how about we go to the city
pool?"
    "The pool's being cleaned today, remember?"
    Tai sighed.  "Dammit, of all the days…" he muttered.
   Kari also walked into the bedroom, Gatomon on her shoulder, and sat on the
bed.  "There's nothing to do." she moaned
   "My fur is getting all messy from this damn humidity." Gatomon complained
   Tai climbed the ladder to the top bunk  "Hey Agumon, you awake yet?"
   Agumon was lying on the bed, curled up.   "Mmph." he mumbled "It's too hot
to wake up today  I feel like I'm in hell"
   "Aww c`mon you big baby." Tai said as he shook Agumon from the mess of
sheets  "You haven't done a whole lot of moving this summer."
   Agumon sighed.  "Yeah, whatever."
   Suddenly, Tai's Digivice on his desk went off.  Genai, at 1/10th scale,
appeared.
   "Digi-Destined!" he said with a cough. 
   "Hey it's Genai!" said Kari, her face lighting up.   "Maybe this day won't
be so damn boring after all!"  Kari grabbed her Digivice from the bed.   I've
Genai on my Digivice also." she said.
   "Then hopefully everyone will be hearing this.
   Genai continued his recording.  "I'm afraid that even after Apocolomon,
evil still exists."  The Digivice recording changed to a picture of a giant,
black Digimon.  It resembled a spider, but stood nearly 30 feet erect, with
bat-like legs and only 6 arms.  "This is Raydromon, and he is causing much
grief to the Digital world.  Already, File Island has fallen to him and he's
made Infinite Mountain into his lair.  Server is experiencing attacks from
his vast army already."  Genai coughed and wheezed.  "As you can see, my
years have caught up with me and I'm not going to be around a whole lot
longer.  I will be opening a portal to the Digital World at 11:30 AM at
Odaiba Park tommorow.  Please Digi-Destined (cough!)  I've asked you for help
before, but I wish this one last thing be done before I die" 
   The projection fizzled out and Tai could only stare.  "Another evil
Digimon?!  Dammit, as if I haven't brought Kari into battle enough times!" he
thought.  Tai still thought about how Kari almost died, even to this day." 
Kari had long forgiven him for what had happened, but Tai still felt pissed
at himself for being such an idiot.  He sighed.  "C'mon Kari." he said. 
"Let's call everyone else and ask if they saw the message."


   At 11:00 AM the next day, Tai and Kari were waiting in the park.  Agumon
was wearing a coat to cover himself up.  Gatomon looked any other cat, so she
didn't need to wear a hot sweatshirt like poor Agumon.  Sora and Biyomon were
the first to arrive.
   "Hi sweetie." Tai said, giving Sora a quick hug.
   "Sweetie?" Kari said.  "Damn, I wish Takeru would do something like that
with me" she said with sigh.  She'd had this little crush on Takeru ever
since they'd first met, and it was getting worst.  She constantly found
herself thinking about him more and more often.  Oh God… this love thing was
really weird.
   Matt and Mimi came walking in at that moment, hand in hand, along with
Gabumon and Palmon.  
   "Trust me Kari.," said Matt "He talks about you a lot more than you'd
think".
  Kari couldn't help but smile.  They exchanged hi's and waited for the rest
of the gang.
   "C'mon, where are they?" Tai said, looking at his watch
   Joe, Izzy, Gomamon and Tentomon came running in, panting.  "Sorry were
late." Tento said between breaths.  "My Dad was in one of his fricken` moods
and it took me awhile to convince him to let me out" Joe said, sitting down.
    "Who's missing?" asked Izzy.
    "Takeru." said Kari
    "Don't you mean T.K?" asked Joe.
    "He says he prefers Takeru.  It makes sound more grown-up." said Matt. 
"He probably got stuck in traffic on the bus.
    "Well he's got to hurry up, the portal's opening in 10 minuets. 
    As if on cue, Takeru came running toward the group with Patomon riding on
his head.  He sat down, panting.  "Hi everyone." he said, sitting down. "Hi
Kari." he added. 
    Kari blushed. "Hi." she said back.  Mimi giggled
    "O.K everyone," Tai started.  "That portal's opening in less then 10
minuets, and I'm a little concerned about our Digimon.  It's been a really
long time since they've Digivolved, and they might have lost some of their
fighting ability."
   "Hey!" yelled Agumon.  "Digimon never lose their abilities!"
   "O.K, but I'm still a little worried."  Tai said with a grimace.
   "Don't worry, we'll be fine.  This guy can't be any harder than Piedmon or
Apocolomon." said Biyomon 
   "Genai didn't give us a whole lot of information about Raydromon." said
Joe "I wonder if he's a Mega Digimon."
   Izzy was tapping away at the keyboard of his laptop.  "I thought about
that also." said Izzy, not looking up.  "I accessed data on Raydromon.  He is
a Mega Digimon, but he's had a lot of experience.  More than Piedmon or even
Apocolomon.  And he's got some powerful attacks."
   "Oh great.  Just what we need.  Another bad guy to destroy." Said Matt.
   Suddenly, a whirring sound came, and a white hole appeared.  "I'm guessing
that that's the portal Genai set up for us. " Mimi said over the noise.
   "C`mon!" shouted Tai.  "It's back to the Digital World!"
   Everyone but T.K and Kari stepped into the portal, so it was just them,
alone. 
   "I'm worried about going back Takeru." said Kari "We don't know if our
Digimon will be able to destroy Raydromon.
   "Don't worry Kari, our Digimon will help us.  They always do." said
Takeru, putting a hand on her shoulder.  "And besides, I'll be there to
protect you too."
   Kari blushed.  "Thanks."
   They stepped into the portal together, holding hands.
   Yes! Kari though to herself. The Hand Hold!  I'm on a good start!  


   In the Digital World, a white hole appeared in the sky, and the
Digi-Destined and their Digimon fell from the sky. 
   "Dammit,." said Joe.  "Ever notice we always go into the Digi World 10
feet from the ground?"
   "Gee Joe, your so observant." said Tai.  He got up and dusted himself off.
 Everyone all right?  There was a round of yes's and grunts.
  "Wow, the Digi-world looks… dead" 
   It truly looked dead.  The trees had turned a sickly gray, and the grass
was dull colored.  The sky was cloudy and just gave everything a depressing
feeling.
   "I guess this is one of the areas where Raydromon took over." Mimi said,
looking around.  "I don't see anyone or anything alive" 
   Sora shivered.  "Reminds me of when the Dark Masters were around"
   "OK, let's get moving." said Tai
   "Where?" asked Agumon
   "Uhh, Maybe we should see Genai to let him know we made it here"
   "If I remember right," said Izzy, "Genai`s house is in a lake, by the
ruins of Myotismon's castle.
   "I'm on it!" said Tentomon.  "Tentomon Digivolve to… Kabuterimon!
   "I'll help him" offered Biyomon.  Biyomon Digivolve to… Birdromon!
   Everyone hopped on Birdromon and Kabuterimon and flew off into the sky.
   "Kari hung on tightly to Birdromon's feathers.  She never liked flying. 
Takeru, seeing this on Kari's face, shifted toward her and put an arm around
her waist. 
   Kari smiled "Thanks.  I really hate heights."
   "I'm not fond of them myself" Takeru put in.
   "I've always just had this fear that I'll fall off or something.  I guess
it was because when I got that fever, I had this feeling I was falling into a
bottomless pit." Kari hugged onto Takeru tighter.
   Sora noticed Kari hanging onto Takeru, and elbowed Tai "Hey, I think you
should take a look at what Takeru and Kari are doing."
   "Huh?" Tai turned his head to see his sister talking with Takeru.  Not
just talking, but holding onto him!  "Well will you look at that." Tai
smiled. "Kinda reminds me of us." He put an arm around Sora and hugged her
close.
   Sora rested her head on his shoulder, and noticed a lake down below. 
"Hey, that's Genai's lake!"
   "Yo! Izzy!" Tai called.  "We found the lake!"
   "Great job Tai!" Izzy shouted back
   They landed by the water and heard Genai's voice.  It sounded weak.
   "Digi-destined (wheeze) I thank you for coming at the Digi-world's time of
need.  My time (cough) is short, and I must tell you something of great
importance.  Please, come down to my house.
   The water parted and everyone walked down the long staircase.
   "Wow, look at all the fish" said Joe.
   "Damn, now I'm hungry." Gomamon grumbled
   "Hey, it's Genai's house." Sora pointed to the house.
   "Boy, he needs to redecorate.
   The house looked as if it was abandoned.  Weeds and vines had grown around
the house.  All the flowers had wilted and sagged to the ground.  There were
holes in the roof, and birds were making nests in the rafters.
   The teens walked into the run-down house to see Genai on his bed.  Genai
coughed and hacked, trying to speak.  "Digi-Destined, I must… tell… you
something about Raydromon.  He is very powerful, and commands (wheeze) a vast
army of Digimon.  Wargreymon and Metalgarurumon cannot defeat Raydromon by
themselves.  You need… to get all of your Digimon to get to… Mega.
   "How can we do that?" Sora asked.  I don't have brothers or sisters with
angels that shoot arrows of Hope and Light.
   "You… need…" Genai hacked.
   "C`mon, dammit!  Need what?! Tai demanded.
   "You… need…, and with his last breath, he said: "the Medallions."  And
then, Genai was dead.


   The Digi-destined had set camp near the lake and were discussing their
next move.
   "OK." Tai said "We know that we need these Medallions to make our Digimon
Digivolve to Mega"
   "So where are we going to find these Medallions?" Matt asked.
   "Well, their probably scattered across the continent, like the crests
were." said Izzy  "I'm also guessing that the Medallions will be like the
crests, The Medallion of Knowledge, The Medallion of Sincerity, etc."
   "Well, if were going to defeat Raydromon, we have to get those Medallions
but where can we find them? Joe asked. "And how do we know Raydromon hasn't
gotten the Medallions yet? 
   "Hmm" Tai looked at his Digivice.  "Maybe the Digivices have something to
do with it."
   "What are you talking about Tai?" Matt asked. 
   "Well, the Digivices and tags and crests all work together.  Maybe the
Digivices will guide us to them."
   "Maybe…" said Matt
   Takeru yawned. "It's getting late, let's get some sleep."
   The teens all got in their sleeping bags and turned in


   Kari tossed and turned in her sleep, she was dreaming of her Takeru, and
their Digimon, running through a cave from Raydromon.  They were cornered,
and Raydromon attacked them with an Energy blast. Takeru had jumped in front
of Kari to protect her from the blast, but his bravery killed him.  The
Energy blast hit him squarely in the chest, piercing his heart, sending him
flying into the wall, dead.  Gatomon finally Digivolved to Angewomon, but
Raydromon easily destroyed her with his Energy blast.  Patomon, so
heart-broken at the death of his best friend, faded away with Takeru.  Kari,
paralyzed with fear, only watched as an Energy blast sped toward her, then
blackness


   Kari shot up from her sleeping bag, sweat dripping from her face, her hair
a mess.  She looked around to see Takeru's sleeping bag open.  She peered
outside to see Takeru sitting at the lake's edge. 
   "Nice night huh?" she said, walking over to him, wearing only a long
nightshirt.  Takeru, with only boxers on, couldn't help but blush a little. 
He'd never seen any girl with night wear on, save for his Mom, and it was
kind of romantic, just the two of them at night, with a full moon out, at a
lakes edge. 
   Kari sat down and rested her head on his shoulder.
   "Your soaked" he couldn't help but comment.  "Nightmare, huh?"
   "Yeah, I've been getting a lot of them lately"
   "I remember when I was younger I always took this bottle of water with me
to bed, thinking it was monster repellent and that'd keep monsters away at
night." Takeru said with a laugh.
   "I had this night light when I was, like, six, and when there was a
blackout during the night, I got all freaked out." she giggled.  "But now I
don't need any night lights, because I have you."
   Takeru couldn't help but be taken aback by her comment.  He realized she
cared for him, but not this much.  He liked Kari, maybe a little bit more
than just friends, but he was 13, he still liked other things like baseball
and video games.  A year or so ago, love, to him, was just another thing in
life, but recently, it was taking over.  Kari looked so sweet and innocent in
the moonlight.  If only he could… Oh God, he was doing it again, he was
fantasizing about him and her again.  Why did it keep happening again and
again?
   "Uhh.. I…" he searched for the right words.
   "That's alright," said Kari. "I'm kind of surprised myself that I said
that."
   They held hands for a little while, watching the still water
   Takeru yawned "It's late, let's go to bed.  Night Kari."
   "Night Takeru."
   They went into the tent and fell asleep, thinking of each other.
