Chapter 1: The End Of The World As We Know It

��������� "Uuuuuuh. Where am I?" moaned Coro opening his eyes. He felt stiff grass under his cheek, and his head was throbbing.

����������� "You're in the digiworld," came an unfamiliar voice.

����������� "Who are....aaaaaaaaaah!"screamed Coro frantically back pedaling at he sight of a small white blob with a turquoise head and tail poking out of it

�����������"Get away from me you *#@%^ in ice cube!" yelled a voice from the distance. Coro looked up just in time to see a flash of brownish maroon hair before the boy tripped over him and fell sprawling in the grass.

����������� "Wait! Wait!"called something that did indeed resemble a large ice cube chasing after the boy.

����������"Coro! Coro?"screamed Lizzie running into the field. She was being followed by what looked like a pink chick with no feet, but she couldn't see her brother through the tall grass.

����������� "Eeeeeeee!"Suddenly a small girl with big blue eyes and long pale blue hair dashed from the woods and ran behind Lizzie.

�����������"Make it go away!" she shrieked clinging to Lizzie's ankles.

����������� "No! Stop!" called a small blue and pink ball of fuzz hopping along behind her.

����������� "Wait! Who?"began Coro sitting up in the grass only to be cut off by a loud moan from the other side of the field.

�����������"What the hell is going on?" demanded the boy who had tripped over Coro.

���������"I don't know, but if you figure it out be sure to let me know!"called the figure on the other side of the field getting to his feet. There was a pause as he began jogging word the group. Suddenly a crashing came from the brush behind the boy. He took one look over his shoulder and began sprinting toward the group.

�����������"What!?" began Lizzie detangling the near hysterical girl from her legs. As though to answer her incomplete question, a giant red bull emerged from the brush beside the boy. Then the green haired boy came barreling into Lizzie, knocking her and the little girl into the tall grass. The bull ran past them and looked around in confusion.

����������� "Where's is yous?" it grunted.

����������� "It talks?" thought Coro in surprise.

����������� "Helooooo!"called a girl with orange spiky pigtails and freckles emerging from the woods, "Is anybody there?!"

����������� "Get down,"hissed Coro grabbing her ankles to pull her into the tall grass beside him.

����������� "Owwww," she complained, "What's the big idea?"

�����������"Shhh!"whispered Coro frantically. But it was too late. The bull oriented on the sound and charged toward them.

����������� "Run!!!"he screamed scrambling to his feet and hoping that the other two strangers were doing the same.

�����������"Coro!" yelled Lizzie, noticing that the bull had almost caught him, "Hey! Hey Bull! Over here!"

����������� The bull perked up and headed back towards Lizzie,s group.

����������� "What do you think you're doing!"yelled Coro.

����������� Suddenly the bull was no longer charging. All of the children did a double take and saw that it was surrounded in what looked like pink bubbles. On closer observation they realized that the small creatures that had been accompying each of them were somehow making the bubbles. Unfortunately, the bull soon shook off the bubbles and began charging the children, who had condensed into one group during the bull's bubble distraction.

����������� "NO!!"cried the creatures trying to jump in front of the raging bull. With a flick of its horns the bull tossed all of the creatures aside.

�����������"Hey! Pick on someone your own size!" yelled the red haired girl stomping her foot.

����������� "That good idea," snorted the bull dashing at them once again. Coro closed his eyes and prepared to be impaled. Then he felt some kind of warmth in his pocket. Reaching in, he pulled out the small metal object that had fallen into his lap before this whole thing had started. To his surprise it was glowing. Even more surprising, the little creatures that had been trying to protect them were glowing also. Beams of light shot out of each of their devices and struck the creatures.

����������� "Prehimon digivolve to...Quantomon!" called the little teal thing that had been talking to Coro. Amazingly, the animal grew and turned into a sort of mini brontosaurus with three striped tails and a crest on its head.

����������� "Chicomon digivolve to....Emulnomon!"called the pink chick that had been with Lizzie. It turned into a dog-sized pink flamingo like bird with a long, green, curving beak and swirly feathers sticking out of its neck.

����������� "Guapomon digivolve to...Lamatomon!"called a blue blobby thing. It turned into what looked like a small blue pony with no mane, floppy ears, and a reptilian tail.

����������� "Voltomon digivolve to..Lectromon!" called a little purple head with spiky projections. It changed into a sort of large, spiky, fushia rabbit with golden wings.

�����������"Fuzzmon digivolve to...Kappymon!" called the little fuzzy head. It changed into a large green caterpillar with a pair of curly antenna and a blade like stinger.

����������� "Coosbmon digivolve to...Penquimon!"called the creature that looked like an ice cube. It changed into a large silver, white, and black penguin like thing with four horns, and diamond shaped silver markings on its face.

����������� All the children could do was stare as these new, more formidable, creatures shot various attacks at the bull until it ran away whimpering with its tail between its legs.

����������� "That was amazing! Incredible! Stupendous!"yelled the girl with orange pigtails, "How did you do it?"

����������� "We digivolved to protect you kids of course, Silly," giggled Lectromon.

�����������"Would somebody explain what is going on!?" shouted the maroon haired boy in exasperation.

���������"When we're good and ready we will, my dear digidestined,"said Penquimon dryly.

����������� The boy glared at the creature. "What did you just call me?" he demanded.

����������� Lamatomon gave a braying chuckle and replied, "Digidestined. You're all digidestined,"

����������� "So let me get this straight,"interjected the green haired boy, "We're digidestined in the digiworld, and you?re digimon who just digivolved? Does anything around here not start with the word digi?!"

����������� "Um, well, a lot of stuff just ends in 'mon'" said Quantomon a little sheepishly.

����������� 'Oh. Well in that case
