| Kenilworth�s Grand Centennial Parade will step off at noon on June 16 and proceed along the Kenilworth Boulevard to North 23rd Street. A Community Picnic with entertainment will take place immediately following the parade on South 21st Street, in the parking lot across from the Kenilworth Veterans Center. There also will be activities at the historic Oswald J. Nitschke House.
Road Closures/Detours for Non-Parade Traffic on June 16: Boulevard Road Closing From 10 a.m. until 2 p.m., the Boulevard will be closed to non-parade traffic (and residents of the affected streets) between 21st Street and Springfield Avenue. The Boulevard will reopen partially at 2 p.m., except for the block between 23rd and 24th Streets, which will remain closed until 3 p.m. The Boulevard will reopen completely at approximately 3 p.m. Detour (due to Boulevard closing) During the time at which the Boulevard is closed, eastbound traffic on Springfield Avenue will be routed past Union County College to Orange Avenue. Westbound traffic will be routed down South 21st Street. South 21st Street Closing South 21st Street will be closed for the Community Picnic from 12 noon until approximately 5 p.m. Instructions for Parade Participants: Parade participants (except for those in large vehicles/floats that are taking part in the parade) and residents of the affected streets will be permitted to drive on the Boulevard to the parade staging area at Lenape Park until 11:30 a.m. As parking at Lenape Park will be limited, local participants are encouraged to have someone drop them off at the park and proceed to other designated parking areas (see below). Large vehicles/floats that are participating in the parade should enter Lenape Park from Springfield Avenue, Cranford, and proceed to their designated staging area after receiving instructions from the parade committee representative greeting them. Parking Instructions: From 10 a.m. on June 16, no parking will be permitted on the Boulevard between North 24th Street and North 14th Street or on North 23rd and North 24th Streets between the Boulevard and Washington Ave. Parking for dignitaries, news media, photographers and Centennial committee: Limited parking for dignitaries, news media, photographers and Centennial committee members will be available in the Harding School parking lot (North 18th Street). Parking for parade participants: -- Lenape Park and any of the following parking areas for the general public Parking for the general public: -- Flexi-Van (North 8th Street and Monroe Ave.) -- St. Theresa�s School parking lot (Monroe Avenue, between North 22nd and North 23rd Streets) -- Verizon (Orange Avenue, Cranford) Shuttle service will be available from the parking areas at Flexi-Van, St. Theresa�s School and Verizon to the parade route approximately every 10-15 minutes.
