History: Addrun was once a kind and caring Steward but, after his father died, he became cruel and capricious. Instead of being content ruling in place of the king of Diridan, he decided he wanted to
be the king. However the ?Steward knew that the people would have to be convinced that they needed a king, for they had lived several centuries without one. Thus he decided to settle for preparing his oldest son to be king in his place and dedicated himself to that purpose.

Addrun grew more ill-tempered as he grew older and Laera often found herself torn between her husband and children. This has worn her down and made her beauty but a pale shadow of what it once was.

History: When Saryn was a boy, he and Cerraent were best friends, and the younger child idolized his brother. But everything changed when Saryn was ten and his brother was seven. Their father dismissed Etinad, who had cared for them since they were born, and took over Saryn's training. Addrun warped Saryn's young mind to his own purposes. The Steward convinced Saryn that it was his right and duty to become king of Diridan, and that his younger brother was worthless. Willing to do whatever he could to please his father, Saryn grew arrogant and cruel toward Cerraent.
