Saishu Heiki Kanojo (SaiKano)
The world is at a state of war, which is left unsuspected by the residence of a small town, even less by Shuji. He just started going out with Chise, a childhood friend that he never really noticed. All seemed quiet and peaceful, until one day in the city of Saporo. An enemy force has launched an attack against Japan by bombing the city. As the buildings begin to fall and people begin to die, a pink light saves the city. It lands right in front of Shuji and it shockes him to see that it was his new girlfriend, Chise, with mecanical wings and a gigantic gun on her right arm. Will their love survive the war and the fact that Chise is The Ultimate Weapon?
The title says "She, The Ultimate Weapon" so don't let the lovey-dovey context fool you, this series is more messed up than Evangelion. As I watched it, I was expecting a love-comedy series but what I got was a gory, death filled, apocalyptic story. This actually made me fear death even more than I already did. So many people die it's not funny anymore.
