| Rob is a tree-hugging, backpacking, tennis-playing, LEGO-building, bicycling, museum-hopping, fantasy-reading, role-playing, tea-drinking, bean-counting, left-handed, vegetarian, ex-volunteer firefighter. He currently works as an appointed public servant, in a financial management capacity, with responsibilities in the areas of budgeting, payroll, property management, procurement, and human resources. Prior to serving the public interest, he spent 9 years in various financial and operational roles at the world's largest cranberry grower marketing cooperative, headquartered on Cape Cod. Rob was born, raised, and presently lives in southeastern Massachusetts, although he delights in traveling and exploring other corners of the known universe. You'll sometimes find him in the White Mountains of northern New England, happily co-leading a band of Sierra Club members along the Appalachian Trail, or camping and dayhiking with friends. The early 20th century Arts & Crafts/Bungalow architectural style appeals to him on both aesthetic and philosophical levels. "The style focuses principally on hand-made craftsmanship, the honest use of materials, design motifs inspired directly from nature, and the use of natural colors and hues. The movement represented a philosophy of living that was opposed to the dehumanizing influence of the industrial age", and the decorative excesses of the Victorian era. Borrowing some elements from traditional Japanese styles, the underlying theme is simplicity, balance, and harmony with the environment. Email Rob at celduin at yahoo dot calm. | "Practically speaking, a life that is vowed to simplicity, appropriate boldness, good humor, gratitude, unstinting work and play, and lots of walking brings us close to the actual existing world and its wholeness." ~ Gary Snyder |
