2. Janos HOGYA Sr

DEATH: Services for John Hogya, 99, of Painesville, a retired machinist for Diamond Shamrock Corp in Painesville, will be 9:30am Friday at St Marys Catholic Church, 242 N State St, Painesville.  Mr Hogya died Tuesday at Greenlawn Health Care Center in Concord Township  after a lengthy illness. Born Feb. 5, 1887, in Hungary, Mr Hogya came to the United States in 1907 and lived in Lake Countymost of his life. He was a member of St Marys Church in Painesville and its Holy Name Society. He retired in 1958 after 51 years with Diamond Shamrock  Survivors are his son, Alex of Painesville; daughters, Elizabeth Pocza of Madison, Helen Claycomb of Painesville and Sister Mary Cecilia of Fairport Harbor; 14 grand-children;35 great-grand-children; and 15 great-great-grand-children. His wife, Elizabeth, died in  1981. His sons, John, Alex and the Rev. Stephen Hogya S.C.J., and a daughter, Margaret, are also deceased.Friends may call from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9pm today at Spear-Mulqueeny Funeral Home, 667 Mentor Ave.,Painesville. Burial will be in St Mary's Cemetary in Painesville.


Vivyan CLAYCOMB

DEATH: PAINESVILLE-Vivyan H. Claycomb,63, died Sundayat Lake County Memorial Hospital, Painesville, after a long illness.  He was born Sept. 3, 1921, in Fairfield Township, Pa.. and lived 34 years in Painesville. Mr Claycomb retired in 1974 from Uniroyal, Inc., Painesville Township, after 28 years as a rigger and painter. He was a member of St Mary's Church, Painesville, and VFW Post 2595 in Painesville. Mr. Claycomb served in the Army in WWII. Survivors include his wife, Helen; sons, Vivyan Claycomb Jr. of Newark, Del., and Glenn Claycomb of New Haven, Ind.; sister, Margaret Dillon of Ligonier, Pa.; seven grand-children, and one great-grand-child. Services are 10am Wednesday at St Mary's Church, 242 N State St, Painesville. Burial is in Riverside Cemetary, Painesville.  Calling ahours are 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm today at the Spear-Mulqueeny Funeral Home, 667 Mentor Ave., Painesville.


John GYURE

DEATH: An illness ofseveral years terminated in the death of John J Gyure, 75, at his home 629 Plum St, Fairport.  Mr Gyure was one of the early employees of the Diamond Alkali Co He woorked atthe Painesville plant as early as 1915, later left and in November, 1923, returned to begin a long period fo employment. He worked most of the time in the mill room and for some time in the machine shop. A native oh Hungary, Mr Gyure was born on Feb. 26, 1882. He came to the United States in 1898, and to Fairport in 1900.  He was a member of St Anthony of Padua Churchand the Verhovay Lodge. His wife, Mary Hogya Gyure, died Sept 11, 1955. Two sons also preceded him in death. Surviving aretwo daughters; Mr Louis ViJagi and Mrs Evan Johnson of Fairport:  two sons, William of Painesville and Nick of Fairport. A sister in Hungary, and seven grand-children. Friends may call at the MulqueenyFuneral Home in Fairport. Rites will be held at 9am Tuesdayat St Anthonys Churchfollowin an 8:30 prayer service at the funeral home. Burial will be in Riverside-St Mary's Cemetary.
