Scadar lake is a lake on the border of Montenegro with Albania, the largest lake in the Balkan Peninsula. Its surface can vary between 370 km2 and 530 km2 of which 2/3 is in Montenegro.The Montenegrin part of the lake and its surrounding rewe declared a national park in 1984. It is one of the largest bird reserves in Europe. In 1996 it was included in the Ramsar list of wetlands of international importance.
Lake Plav is located in north Montenegro and is a glacial lake between two mountain ranges at an altitude of 906 m above sea level. Its surface area is  1.99 km2 and is also the best tourist attraction in the area.
Lake Biograd is located in the heart of Biogradska Gora national park on an altitude of 1,094 m above sea level and is the biggest and most attractive of the 7 glacial lakes scattered across the national park. The maximum depth is 12 m and the lake is 870 m long and 260 m wide.
There are a lot more lakes than these three like Lake Hrid , Lake Krupac, Lake Linerici, Lake Piva, Lake Slano, Lake Zminica, Lake Visitor, Lake Ricavac and a few more.......
Rivers also in Montenegro are many such as Bijela river, Bistrica river, Zeta river, Piva river, Moraca river, Komarnica river, Trebisnjica river, Ljuca river, Cijevna river and many more.....
Tara River is the largest european supply of drinking water. The Tara river cuts the Tara river Gorge, the biggest canyon in Montenegro and the whole Europe at 78 kilometers in length and 1,300 m at its deepest. The canyon is protected as a UNESCO World Heritage Site
Bojana River despite being short, it has quite a large watershed covering 5,187 km2, because the wholw drainage area of Lake Scuteri, the largest lake in southeastern Europe, is also part of it.
Cehotina River originates from the border with Serbia and for for a few kilometers forms the border between Serbia, Montenegro and Bosnia - Herzegovina.The Cehotina river flows for 100 km in Montenegro and 25 km in Bosnia.
