Season 8- Episode 12 - A river in Egypt
RTE voiceover dude "A weary Carter must endure the
worries of his parents, while Lewis and Weaver are set for a
standoff. It's ER"
Seems like Rachel has forgiven Mark for searching her room last
week. I wonder what it took, a new CD player, maybe a Discman?
And if Rachel wants to move back to Mom then why aren't they
driving her to the airport?
Okay, I know the answer. Because she shouldn't be allowed dictate
things like that. Or rather because Mark is a wuss who doesn't
like making hard decisions.
Brian "You must be a really light sleeper."
Abby should have said "No, but your wife is a really loud
screamer."
Mark "I'm working on it."
Elizabeth "Are you? Or are you just waiting for it to blow
over?"
I'll take answer number B please.
Kerry "You can't screw up and then whine about being
mistreated."
Has Chen ever admitted to her own share of the blame? But I
forgot, it doesn't matter that she too misdiagnosed the patient.
Kerry wasn't there, so it's all *her* fault.
Romano to Gallant "You can go away now."
Romano "I was going to page you, but I couldn't be sure
you'd be wearing your pager."
Carter's father either doesn't know or doesn't care that Carter
isn't supposed to be drinking.
Nice one. Blame your son for your divorce. Is that what you're
going to say in court? "My son told me to do it"
Mark treating the heart attack father. It wouldn't be an ER anvil
if we didn't have a lingering shot of Mark as he realizes "Oh
no! If I send Rachel away then that could be *me* in ten years
time!"
(You should be so lucky)
"He abandoned me, turned his back. Nobody does that only a
stubborn heartless man."
Then a few minutes later.
"You're not going to make me cry. This make-up took 3 hours."
1. It sure didn't look like it took 3 hours.
2. *now* who's being heartless?
Sandy kissing Kerry. My Father (who was watching this with me
when it aired on RTE) commented "Good enough for her."
(Yeah, he doesn't like Kerry either!)
Ah of course, *that's* why Sandy 'needed' Kerry to be out...so
she could kiss her in public...not that *that* stopped her.
And of course Chen was smiling smugly at the sight of Kerry
getting humiliated in front of the whole staff. How would she
have liked it if Frank (super nurse) had turned up in the ER
while people were speculating on the father of her child, and
kissed her soundly in front of everyone?
Kerry "If you were a more thorough doctor, you wouldn't have
needed me there in the first place."
Damn right. Chen was supposed to be only five days away from
being an Attending and not *needing* supervision. She whined her
way into the job and then she couldn't handle it...and her reward
is an attending's position. There's no justice.
(And no, I'm not going to rant on again about how TPTB have
screwed up the timelines. If they'd stuck to their original
statement, then Chen wouldn't even be finishing her *fourth* year
of her residency until some time in the summer)
Abby "This is really none of my business."
Makes a change to hear Abby say *that*...oh wait, I think she
said something similar to Nicole...and it didn't stop her from
butting in *there* either.
Sandy "I did you a big favor...you just don't know it yet."
Yeah, she showed Kerry just what a selfish, inconsiderate, *bitch*
she is.
Cein's Dad "Did she not flush the toilet when she'd finished.
Yeuch."
So Susan is all for 'respecting' the patient's wishes without
question when it comes to stuff like chest tubes, but doesn't
even consider *not* giving him painkillers even though he didn't
want them.
And this week, the award for the 'Scene/plot which Dave *should*
have been in' goes to the whole plot line with the rapper on the
'DL'. Somehow it seemed very bizarre that Carter knew all that
slang and Abby hadn't a clue about it. Dave would definitely have
been the better character to handle it.
