Season 8- Episode 8 - Partly cloudy, chance of rain

Great. Every time I hear *that* on a weather forecast I'm now going to have a flashback to this episode. Thanks a lot.

Irish voiceover gal "Carrie (her pronunciation, not mine) works flat out at an accident scene as bad weather brings high tension to the ER"

Kerry "The basement is flooding. They're losing charts...
Haleh "Well then call housekeeping."
Kerry "And payroll."
Haleh "Be right there."

Say what you like about Kerry (and believe me I do <g>) but occasionally she knows just how to motivate people <g>

So Peter gets the official notification that Carla was a slut. And a hypocrite, after all, remember her indignation when Peter asked her if she was sure he was the father.

Cleo "I hate chocolate mint."
Okay, when I read the summary of this scene I originally assumed that Cleo had announced this to all and sundry. Glad to see I was wrong, but it was still a bit ungracious of her. I mean, these people went to the trouble of organizing this for her; she could at least have the common decency to pretend to like it.

Susan to Mark "You know, you might want to think about getting out of the ER."
Now why didn't someone say that to him a few seasons earlier so we could be spared all the 'let's get AE an Emmy if it kills us' plots.

So a live electric wire is falling towards you, what do you do? Answer; knock yourself and someone else into a puddle of water?
(Almost as smart as one of my D&D magic users who set off a lightning bolt while the entire party was standing in ankle deep water)

Kerry to Gallant "I told you not to touch him."
Lopez to Kerry "I told you not to do that."
Does *nobody* ever listen in this show?

Right Susan, criticize *Mark's* bedside manner. "Yeah, those are the best kind. [your dog] probably went really fast."

Gamma has a suspected broken hip and her driver just loads her into the back of the car? Shouldn't he have called an ambulance or something? Or at the very lease have gotten her into the limo, which might have been more comfortable.

Gamma "It was supposed to be clear...it was supposed to be sunny."
Yeah, and *you* were supposed to not get behind the wheel of a car.
I'm sorry. I know we're supposed to sympathize with a little old lady who's broken her leg and is all confused and everything, but dammit, she had no right to be driving and putting other peoples lives in danger. Granted the accident was most likely as a result of the weather and had nothing to do with her illness, but she should never have been driving in the first place. And it's not even as if she had no other choice. She had a driver but she was too stubborn to use him.

Kerry "I don't *have* any blood..."
Yeah, cause you ran out of the ER without taking two minutes to gather up supplies.

And here's a question. Once Kerry realized that it was going to take time to get the pregnant woman out of the ambulance, why didn't she send back to County for an Obstetrician and supplies? Okay, she didn't know that she'd need to do a c-section until she hopped in the ambulance, but surely there would have been enough time to get someone to the scene?

Gallant must have one of those 'quick dry and don't need ironing' lab coats, cause it looked pretty fresh to me when he pulled it on in the ambulance.

Romano "If she lives, you're a hero. If she doesn't, I don't know you."
Two minutes of screen time and he still gets the best lines.

"Don't listen to your parents." Great advice Mark, wonder if someone told Rachel that.

I was wondering at first whether it was really ethical for Carter to be treating the victim of Gamma's hit and run. But then I figured that at least the girl could be sure that Carter would pull out all the stops to save her, if for no other reason than he wouldn't want his grandmother on a manslaughter charge.

Oh yes, they should definitely have a dress code that requires male med students to wear scrubs. Mmm Gallant!
Seriously though, the scrubs definitely make people look more mature. I thought it of Carter in season 1, and I'm thinking the same about Gallant now.

Hang on, didn't Mark tell Chen when she returned that she owed him *twenty* bucks for Cleo's present, and not ten?
