Season 8- Episode 3 - Blood Sugar Sex Magic

RTE voiceover "Dr. Malucci flirts with disaster (Cein - ahhh, so *that's* her name) and Dr. Greene has a surprise visitor."

Two weeks in that apartment and Luka *still* hasn't unpacked? Tsk tsk tsk (Cein carefully ignores the bag of stuff she brought from home after Christmas that is still in the corner of *her* room almost a month later)

Oh come on, they seriously expect us to believe that a little knock like that could crack a fish tank?

Abby "I don't know if it's salt water, I didn't taste it." (smirk)

Mark to the sprained ankle dude "Normally I'd do some bloodletting, but we're low on leeches." (mustn't make Abby comment, mustn't make Abby comment)

Awww, poor little Reese and his little flashlight (sniffle) Now why couldn't they have *showed* us that scene. (then they could have cut the Cleo/Benton bit)

Benton "My son's gonna grow up without a mother.....and there's nothing I can do about it."
Um, never heard of 'stepmothers' dude?

Cleo "I was waiting on a surgical consult."
Dave "Aw, come on, you were in there gabbing with your boyfriend."

Cein "Word!!"
(although, Dave *was* out of line in treating another doctor's patient...but then, wasn't Mark doing the same thing with some of Kerry's?)

Dave (re Cleo and her 'butt hole' patient) "Freudian thing, isn't it?"
Why did Kerry give him the 'look', which is normally reserved for times when someone makes a comment about gay people?

And yet again, Chen - who is supposedly the *Chief* Resident - lets a 'junior' member of staff persuade her into a course of action she's not happy about. Granted that Carter is much more experienced than Dave, and of course *he's* not going to make the wrong call.

Dave "I'm Dr. Dave."
EMT "So I've been warned."
(smirk)

The elevator didn't look *that* crowded to me.

Luka to Abby "Did you find your sweater?"
Abby "Yeah." (and I found a few good CD's as well. You don't mind, do you?)

Rachel "I swear I'm adopted."
Mark and Jen "We wish!!"

How dumb do you have to be to *not* lock the ambulance door?

You could almost *see* Kerry realize that her 'scapegoat' has just shown up.

Mark "Malucci is not the first doctor to get caught performing an unauthorized physical in the hospital." Yeah Mark, you'd know all about *that*.

Abby re Luka "He sleeps with the window open." (please everyone, no vampire jokes <g>)

So Carter tells Abby he has a bad back and she *still* insists on climbing on top of him?

And why didn't he just lift her up as far as the fire escape. I mean, we know he's able to carry her (Rescue Me) and the fire escape wasn't *that* high.

Patient "I can't have a baby." And yes, the anvil wouldn't work properly if we didn't get a quick shot of Chen's reaction to the comment.

Hmm, guess they had a two for the price of one deal on anvils, cause they managed to get Mark with the whole "I don't want to be responsible for my child" one as well.

I can't believe it. Luka has graciously allowed Carter and Abby to be released without charge, and *neither* of them has the common courtesy or decency to apologize to him and thank him?

So, last season Reese needed to be watched 100% of the time while he was in Cleo's living room. But he's matured sufficiently in the last few months so that neither Peter nor Jackie are bothered that he's wandering around the corridor at County?

Peter re Reese "I need to find someone to look after him."
Romano "Don't look at me." (smirk)

Awww, poor Dave, sitting in the ambulance bay all alone (sniffle)

Chen "You know, they say you're not a real doctor until you've killed a few patients."
Gee Chen, you *really* know how to make a guy feel better.

Dave "This is the only thing that I've ever been any good at."

Oh I don't know, Dave. I think that paramedic you were just with might disagree ;-)

Dave "I need this job. You can't fire me. I have a kid to support."

Okay, I know there's been a lot of speculation as to whether Dave was lying through his teeth just to gain sympathy. Well, my opinion is that he was telling the truth. The look on his face wasn't that of a guy who was thinking, "Quick, what can I say to make her change her mind? Tell her I've got an aged mother to support? Nah, she'd never fall for that. Ooh, I know, let's tell her I've got a kid."

To my mind, it was more the look of a guy who's grudgingly having to admit to something because it's his last resort. He didn't *want* to have to say anything, but he didn't feel he had a choice.

Kerry "Since when? You never said anything about being a father."
Hmm, is Kerry feeling a twinge of guilt and maybe wishing that she'd picked a different scapegoat?

Whoa, for a second there during Dave's last speech, I was almost expecting him to actually hit her.
