08 01 - Four Corners
(aka I'm sure I've seen this before!)
I think the Irish Voiceover guy is taking lessons from the USA
promo producers. The lead in was "Carter is homeward bound,
and Greene must confront his demons, on tonight's ER"
(smirk) I liked Abby's quick look upwards to see if there was
going to be anyone *else* falling from the sky.
Um, Peter, you're not married to Cleo, so Mark can't tell you
anything about her medical condition.
**Weaver**
Hmm, how on earth did I miss Dave's scene in the teaser? Oh, I
know, cause he was far off in the background, just like always (bastard
TPTB)
Yes Kerry, you can breathe a sigh of relief...you've been in the
ER five minutes, and your secret is still safe.
Oh, and Randi? Get some glasses, cause Kerry's hair does *not*
look good.
Romano - "You could just call my office, you don't have to
go beating up the elevator."
When Romano was going on about how he assumed that Kerry's
'coming out' was confidential, was I imagining it, or did he
sound sincere about it? I mean, I would have expected sarcasm or
a little smirk, to indicate that he was just waiting for the
right time to use the information. But if I had been watching the
show for the first time and didn't know the history, I would have
taken his comments at face value.
**Benton**
Peter - "We're taking a little break now."
Peter's niece - "What did you do?"
That talk show host looked familiar...I was sure he used to be in
Taggart, but www.imdb.com doesn't agree with me (shrugs)
Peter's bedside manner could do with more work. I mean, would it
have killed him to have actually *listened* to his patient and
try and show some sympathy? No wonder she jumped.
Loved Malik's warning everybody "Weaver's here!!!!"
And it was nice to see an ER doc (Mark) actually respecting a
patient's confidentiality for a change.
Chuny (re the jumper) - "What did you say to her?"
Peter - "I didn't say anything to her."
Yeah Peter, and that was the problem. You told her she was
pregnant with what she thought was her half-brother's baby, and
you didn't even take five minutes to listen to her.
Peter - "You okay?"
Jackie - "What do you need, Peter?"
(way to go, Jackie <g>)
For the record, I didn't think that Jackie looked as if she was
on drugs in this episode...but I thought she *should* have been.
Prozac or something.
(dammit, why couldn't they have made Jackie a regular in the
series instead of Cleo)
**Carter**
Cein starts singing "Cruella de Ville, Cruella de Ville..."
Oh come on, I can't have been the *only* one to think that when
we saw Eleanor...
Is it possible for two people to travel in the same car and be
any further apart? Both physically and emotionally?
Oh come on Carter, could you not switch your phone off for *one*
day?
How could Carter *not* mention to anyone that his grandfather had
died? Okay, I know that Abby was the only person that we *know*
he hadn't told, and he could have told everyone else in the ER *except*
her. But you know the way the nurse's gossip. If he'd said it to
*anyone* then it'd have been all around the ER. Maybe that's *why*
he didn't mention it, but it still seems weird.
I loved the picture of Carter and his brother. But does the fact
that there wasn't a girl in there; mean that Carter's sister is
now decreed by TPTB never to have existed? Or does it just mean
that the Carter's never had her painted.
Oh God, Abby. You're going to a wake, could you at least brush
your hair properly? In fact, why the hell didn't you leave it in
the ponytail you were wearing at work? It was a hell of a lot
more flattering.
The burning question on alt.tv.er after this episode aired was
"Did Carter swallow?" ;-)
And after rewinding the tape a few times, I'm pretty sure he *didn't*.
His lips never opened and he wiped them immediately afterwards,
so I'm sure he didn't drink any.
**Greene**
After the three previous 'mini-episodes', I was ready to stop
watching even before we got to Mark's bit. (I probably should
have...although we *did* get to see a bit more of Dave...like
five seconds more, but it all counts <g>)
Mark to Luka (re the M&M) - "Just stick to the facts,
you'll be fine."
Yeah right, take your own advice sometime why don't you
Heheh - Randi hiding the 'basketball' from Mark.
Eek, has Paul McCrane lost weight? He looked terrible.
"Always tell the truth, because when you don't, God gets
angry."
Hey, it's okay Mark, you don't have to worry...after all, 'God
owes you one'...
Elizabeth - "You do what you think is right, Mark." (ouch,
she knows or at least has guessed what he did)
Chen to Kerry re the Chief Resident position "I won't let
you down."
Cein - "bwahaahaaa, that's what *you* think!!!!"

Carter to the little girl "And Abby's going to hang out with
you, until they bring you up."
Cein "Yeah, unless her shift finishes in the meantime, in
which case you won't see her for dust."
