Season 7 - Episode 22 - Rampage
You know I'm pretty certain that someone last week said
'Nobody should break your arm....no matter how bad you've
been'
Guess it's okay to deprive someone of medical help if they've
been bad enough.
Awww.....Ella is such a cute baby.....wonder who the daddy is
<g>
Kim's timing sucks. Kerry is in the middle of a major
trauma and Kim
chooses that time to talk to her about a personal issue.
Not to mention her
choosing to to do so in public where anyone *cough*Frank*cough*
could
overhear their conversation.
Okay, so Cleo and Mark are treating a child who they know isn't
going to
survive...so which of them gets called away to deal with another
patient?
Why the (alleged) Paediatrician of course.
Paramedic - "He has AIDS"
(and we see Cleo carefully adjusting her gloves and pulling them
down a bit)
Abby "I just wanted to let it go."
Luka "Then why did you fill it out?"
and Abby just walks away cause she hasn't got a decent response.
I'm not going to join in the arguments about Luka should have/shouldn't
have
sent in the form.....but I find it hard to believe that any
normal couple
wouldn't have at least discussed each others career plans....especially
for
something as important as this.
And on the subject of career plans, Abby was a bit snitty with
Carter
because he hadn't mentioned to her that he was trying for a job
away from
County.
But yet she obviously hasn't discussed her plans
with the man she's
allegedly having a relationship with.
the blood pouring out of the womans mouth
EWWWWWWWEEEEEEEEE.....Gross...
(and I haven't thought that about an ER scene for some time now)
This is an episode that really needed Maggie Doyle.....just to
put a
reasonable face on the other side of the gun debate.
I mean on one side there's Mark, Kerry, Carter, Jing-Mei.....on
the other
side there's Frank. (btw given that Frank is an ex-cop, I'm
not surprised
at his attitude towards guns....but I wish they could have
brought in Reggie
or Lydia's Al to put forward the pro-gun POV)
I've said it before and I'll say it again....My God, Benton has a
massive
ego. Did he really think that the only reason Cleo wasn't
backing him was
because she was pissed off about him and Carla?
So we have yet another season finale with Cleo trying to respect
the
patients opinions regardless of her own personal views.
I'll bet Romano will be pissed when he finds out what Peter did.....he'll
be
even more pissed if the patient decides to sue County.
And I know it's sick and twisted of me, but a part of me wished
that we'd
see Peter operating on the guy....someone distracts him....and
Peter
accidentally nicks himself with a scalpel.
I was sure the cops were going to blast Lizzies pager to bits.
LOL
Mark referring to Romano as 'the best surgeon in the hospital'
when talking
to the kid whose mother died.
Yeah, I know it was a tragic scene.....and I know that Elizabeth
wasn't *in*
the hospital at the time....but I bet she wouldn't have been
impressed.
The real reason Romano is pissed off at Kim.....
he knows that there's absolutely no chance of her using him to
'sleep her
way to the top'
Mark shouldn't have been anywhere near Fossen at any stage.
I mean, it's
not as if they were exceptionally busy by then.
Mark could easily have treated the guy who shot Fossen....and
I'll bet he
wouldn't have been as disparaging of him as Carter and Jing-Mei
were.
: Mark - "oh my God...you're the man who shot him...you
saved my wife and
child....thank you thank you thank you." (starts smothering
him with kisses)
Patient yells - "Where the hell's my gun? Get this
sicko away from me."
Luka's 'Quiet, so we can listen" reminded me of Dave telling
Jesse to 'Shut
up, I can't hear anything.'
Did Carter & Jing-Mei just expect that guy to do nothing and
let himself be
shot?
Whatever my personal feelings about guns (which aren't that
strong either
way, simply because I don't live in a country where gun control
is an
issue...hell, even most of the police aren't armed), I'm
impressed that a
bystander saw something going on and reacted....because all too
often I've
heard news reports of people being attacked and assaulted in
public....and
there's been bystanders just watching but not getting involved.
Oh, and I bet that Mark was wishing that Elizabeth had a gun in
the
house.....pity he threw away the one he'd bought after being
attacked.
And finally.....we have the last scene......
I have to say, I was disgusted by this when I read the 'script
excerpt'
before this aired first....and I was disgusted when I read all
the
reviews/comments etc on it....and after finally seeing it....I'm
even more
disgusted....
This was revenge....pure and simple....
The look on Mark's face after he stopped the elevator, sickened
me.
To me Mark seemed to be thinking.
"Look at me you bastard....I could save your life with a
simple click of a
switch....'click'....but I'm not going to.....I'm going to let
you die
painfully....'click'....because I want to....you threatened my
wife and
child....'click'....well now you're going to die.....rot in hell
you
bastard...."
The look of triumph on his face sickened me.
Last year I was totally depressed at the end of the season
because I
couldn't get the image of Luka on the platform out of my mind.....this
year
I'm digusted at the end of the season.
But anyway, enough about that....(and I bet you never thought
you'd see me
get through a whole 'review' without mentioning Dave....oops too
late <g>)
But since Dave *did* have his usual fraction of a scene, I'll
just say that
it's ironic that six months ago (ER time) Peter was punching Dave....and
today Dave's the one that stops Peter from being punched a second
time.
(should have put it in a 'snippets'....
Dave standing idly by while Roger thumps Benton. Chuny says
'aren't you
going to help him?"
Dave says, "well, that's one for the time he punched me last
November....that's one for the time he chewed me out for being
disrespectful
of the gang-banger patients....I figure I'll let him get punched
a few more
times before I break it up.")
