Season 7 - Episode 12 - Surrender

I felt really sorry for Kim....she looked so 'disappointed but trying to
hide it' when Kerry said 'this is just between us'.
While I'm sure she didn't expect Kerry to announce it from the Admit desk,
I'm pretty certain she wished she would.

Ick, couldn't they find a high enough stand for the camera when they were
filming this episode?

Loved Romano's response when Peter said he only gave him the job because
he's black.
"You're discounting your finely honed PR skills."

Why did Kerry only become self-conscious about sniffing Kim's wrist when
Elizabeth walked by?

When Kerry mentioned to Elizabeth about Mark's mixing his pronouns, I am
convinced that Elizabeth had noticed already....she just seemed a little too
quick to say she hadn't noticed.....or of course maybe she <hadn't>
noticed...and was therefore worried about what else she could have
overlooked....not just with Mark but with any of her patients...

It's been said that Carter picked the right time to tell Kerry of his
'lapse'....
ie. when she was in a hurry out the door and was distracted, couldn't
discipline him then.....but even if she hadn't been in a hurry to try and
find Kim, she wouldn't have done anything on the spot...at worst she would
probably have told Carter not to do another shift until she had had time to
consider what to do.

Loved the way the guy with the permanent erection suddenly lost his
religious belief when faced with the prospect of a needle.

Benton was right.  Carter shouldn't be in a trauma if he can't handle narcotics.

Are we to believe that Benton and Carter haven't worked on any traumas
together since the restriction on administering drugs was lifted?  Or do we
just assume that Carter never had to administer any narcotics in front of
him?

Carter should have asked Peter to talk to <him> before speaking to Kerry.
He should have known that Peter would give Kerry a hard time about his
restrictions.

And when Peter did talk to Kerry, she should have told him to talk to
Carter, and left it at that.

Loved Alex Kingston's scared shitless, almost falling apart performance.....

When Romano turned up in recovery, didn't Elizabeth say she paged him over
an hour ago?  In that case, I am very impressed.  Not only did she finish a
difficult procedure in a short space of time, but the patient was conscious
and alert as well.....(almost a candidate for the 'Carol Hathaway miraculous
ressurection award)

Why did Elizabeth not cancel Romano's page once she was through with the
surgery?  Simple, she wanted him to see how well she'd done....how she'd
conquered her fears and saved the patient.....you could see the brief twinge
of disappointment on her face when he doesn't seem to realize the amazing
significance of this.

And I know everyone thinks he's a bastard, but he was right not to make a
big deal out of it.....otherwise Elizabeth might have realized that he had
been watching her freak out and then recover in the OR.

Hmm, I'm surprised that Kerry would buy a house with so many steps outside
it....just seems a little impractical....
(and yes, I have had to climb steps while using a crutch....I know how
awkward it is.....guess maybe she just fell in love with the place or
something)

I didn't like that music that was playing at the end of the show.....or
rather, to be more accurate, I didn't like the way they played it....it was
too loud and overbearing.....if they had used it as 'background' music
rather than playing it to drown out everything else, maybe it would have
been better.

And while we're on the subject of soundtracks, I liked the total lack of
music in Carter's confession scene......

Poor Kerry....she just looked so disconsolate when she arrived at Kim's
place.  (btw why didn't she drive? or was she too upset?)

and on an amusing note, when I was watching this on RTE, they decided to do
one of their rare previews of the next weeks episode...

We saw a quick clip of a clown on a gurney.  Abby yelling 'this clown is
crashing'.  The caption (and voice-over) Which doctor will you see in the ER
next week?

Then we see Mark telling the patients in Chairs that they won't be getting
antibiotics for the flu, Cleo asking him what he's doing, and Mark saying,
he's clearing the board.  The caption is 'the one with the good bedside
manner?'

Finally the clip of Carter handing a chart over to Dave and saying 'you'll
be sensitive, right?'  and Dave smiling and saying 'I'll wrap it all up in a
nice big bow.' with the caption 'the sensitive one?'

Anyway, I thought it was funny.
