This famousRomano-Egyptian mummy portrait is in the Getty Museum. The name of the woman, Isidora, is written on what remains of the cartonnage, or linen mummy case. She wears a gold hair pin, gold-and-pearl earrings, and three necklaces heavy with gold and jewels. If you want to recreate these, and other jewelry from museum masterpieces, see the new book, "Creating Your Own Jewelry"

New Roman Jewelry: This site gave me the best chuckle. The web-site is out of Great Britain, but the store being advertised is just up the street in Rhode Island's capital city! I've shopped here; they really have lovely copies of museum items, including beautiful jewelry. Unfortunately, the Museum Company store web-site is under construction. Here's the blurb from the UK website: Museum Company (Shopping - Specialty Shops) 73 Providence Pl Providence Place Mall, Providence 02903 o 401-270-4274 Ever wanted to take home some ancient Roman jewelry? Well, chances are you'll not get the real thing, but the Museum Company works with museums such as the Met in NYC and the Victoria and Albert Museum in London to bring quality reproductions and adaptations of some of the world's best museum items.

But wait, there's more. At this site not only can you buy reproductions of ancient Roman jewelry AND get a free Coliseum postcard mailed free from Rome: http://romegiftshop.com/anromjew.html There are 6 rings & 2 necklaces available here. Reasonable prices except for one minor detail-they are UK, with a new web site http://www.heritagelegends.com/US/shop.htm
