In the early 80's he took the job of Manager at Kentucky Fried Chicken. The local franchise owner acquired two more stores placing him as a multi store manager. He trained management and employees in the day to day operations of the national restaurant chain
In the late 80's he moved into management at Capt D's. But decided to continue to challenge himself by going into business for himself as a general contractor and restaurant owner.
He opened his restaurant and served chicken meals for a year but really began to prosper as a contractor. Unable to spend the time with the restaurant he later sold it to continue as a general contractor.
With concerns of insurance and long term benefits, he decided to enter the industrial maintenance field. As a mechanical technician and later an electrical technician he worked with three industrial plants including one commercial bakery.
As the bakery closed operations he approached a new business idea - weighing all the previous experiences and setting into motion the commercial restaurant equipment repair field starting as a partnership with another electrical technician later becoming a Company.
Sales and the customer base exploded into what is now CEF Services Inc. Wal-Mart being a major part in the company�s growth. Restaurant equipment sales, installation and repair seem to be in great demand in and around Thomaston. Located in the center of Atlanta - Macon - Columbus the area seems to support the business. Growing into the current location for offices, sales, and warehousing.
CEF Services Inc. now has 7000 foot of warehouse and sales floor. A repair shop for equipment and offers on site restaurant equipment repairs. New and Used equipment is available with very competitive prices. A customer can visit the store, shop, purchase and even have the equipment installed by the staff technicians.
Custom installation work such as � Exhaust Hoods, Walk-In coolers and freezers, Cook lines, Seating, Welding and more � CEF Services offers the experience to get it done right.

The founder "Barney Harp" feels that all his life experiences lead to the current business. With a solid background in all phases of the restaurant business, general contracting, plumbing, electrical, industrial maintenance and mostly service - he offers a good foundation for this business and is knowledgeable in many areas.
Currently he is developing a booklet for the new restaurateur that will guide them through the stages of getting a restaurant open - from concept to cooking.
