Projects: Variables (b)

Instructions: Create a C program that runs successfully for each project below.

Project 1

Kyrgyzstan is a country in Central Asia. Let's provide some statistics on Kyrgyzstan. Use floating point variables and calculations with floating point variables to print this on the screen:

Kyrgyzstan occupies 76640 square miles in Central Asia.
Mountains cover 90 percent of the country, which is 68976 square miles.
Permanent ice fields and glaciers cover 3 percent of the country, which is 2299.2 square miles.

Project 2

Advertise the sale price of a one-way airline ticket to Kyrgyzstan. Use floating point variables and calculations with floating point variables to print this on the screen:

One-way ticket from New York (USA) to Bishkek (Kyrgyzstan): $870.95
With 0.075 sales tax, your total is: $936.27

Project 3

Provide historical information on Kyrgyzstan. Use these constants in your program:

  • SOVIET 1924
  • INDEP 1991

Use these constants in calculations to print this on the screen:

Kyrgyzstan was incorporated into the Soviet Union in 1924.
It remained part of the USSR for 67 years, until it gained independence in 1991.
