They have rescheduled the June 1st game for June 2nd so we will play a double header on June 2nd in Bettendorf.

Currently we still have a game scheduled for Saturday June 1st and Sunday June 2nd in Iowa City but we are waiting to hear about a double header on Sunday.
Our team needs to supply two volunteers to help with concessions at the complex on Saturday, June 1st from 2:00 - 4:00. Please let me know ASAP if you can help during that time.
Don't forget tryouts next week on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 6:00 - 8:00 at the complex. There are only 13 players registered to tryout so please encourage other players to attend the tryouts. We still need parent volunteers for some of the tryout nights.

We have 12 players for La Crosse and we can take guest players so we will attend the tournament. Make sure you make your hotel reservations asap.
Illowa has rescheduled the game from April 27th to June 1st in Iowa City which means we get to drive to Iowa City on June 1st and June 2nd. I am trying to see if Illowa will schedule a double header on Saturday, June 1st but I haven't received a response yet.
The hotels for Muscatine are full and I had a travel agency look for a hotel in the Quad Cities but they are all full. There are many events going on in the Quad Cities that weekend. Since we will not be able to stay as a team, everyone will need to make their own arrangements. Other options are to stay in Iowa City or drive home.
Don't forget practice this Saturday at the complex from 3:30 to 5:00.

Jerry Steward has made us aware that the Peet and Holmes track teams are in a track meet at Marshalltown Saturday, May 4th which is the same day as the State Cup.The meet is over about noon but the state has told us that we will probably have a morning game. We need to determine who is out for track and if you will be available to play in the State Cup Saturday morning. If we do not have enough players, we will need to pull out of the state cup tournament.
Please reply by Tuesday, March 26th to let us know if you are going to be able to play in the State Cup on Saturday, March 4th. Everyone needs to reply to this email so we know if we have enough players.
We will have practice on the following dates:

Our first tournament is April 6 & 7 at Ankeny. We have reservations for April 5 & 6 at the Settle Inn in Altoona. The room is $69.00 per night which includes a pool and continental breakfast. The rooms are being held until March 25th under the �Cedar Valley Arsenal�. The phone number is 515-967-7888.
We have a tournament on July 6 & 7 in La Crosse. We have reservations for July 5 & 6 at the Bluffview Inn under the �Cedar Valley Arsenal� until May 1st. Rooms with two double beds are $80.00 and one double bed is $70.00. They have a limited number of rooms with two beds so call soon. There is continental breakfast and a pool. Here is what was discussed at the Parent Meeting:
- The tournaments selected were:
- Ankeny - April 6 & 7
- State Cup - May 4, 5 & 11
- Muscatine - June 21 - 23rd
- LaCrosse - July 6 & 7
- Per our email vote we are going to play in the Illowa league. The total cost for the spring league and tournaments
is 78.00 (some have decided to contribute 80.00). Please send a check made out to the CVYSA to Mark Schauls or
Doug Christensen. Illowa has a provision for a 15 year old boy who is in eighth grade to play on the U14 team during the spring season since his U15 team is playing high school soccer. Ryan Rink falls into this category and will be playing
the Illowa league games with us this spring.
- We will try to schedule practices around track and other school events so the nights we practice may change each week. We will probably try to practice Friday nights until around May 1st and then switch to Wednesday's since baseball will be starting and church will be ending. The other night we practice will depend on school functions and field availability.
- We still need a couple players for the Hudson tournament.

Below is information about three indoor tournaments in March. Please review and reply by the deadline for each tournament you would like to play in. We will take the first players that reply to create teams. We may need some parents to help depending on how many teams we have, game dates and times. UNI is not having an indoor tournament this spring because the dome is closed for repairs.
- March 1-3, 2002 - Iowa City 4v4: $100.00 per team, 5-6 players per team. Reply by Tuesday, February 12th.
- March 9, 2002 - Reinbeck 3v3: $50.00 per team, 5 players per team. Reply by Friday, February 15th.
- March 16, 2002 - Hudson 3v3: $50.00 per team, 5 players per team. Reply by Friday, February 15th.

Great game today!!
We will have practice this week on Monday, October 22 from 5:30 to Dark (about 6:45) at the complex and on Thursday, October 25th from 5:30 to dark at Pumpkin park. We realize some players are wrestling and will not make it by 5:30. Please come when you can. We will not have practice Tuesday.
I have put maps for Madison on the web site. Please let me know if you can't print them. Our age group only has five teams and since we are playing a round robin, the winner of the pool is the champion.
The CVYSA is refunding to each travel team 8.50 per player because when we paid our $50.00 registration, $8.50 went to t-shirts. Some teams are donating it to the complex. Please reply by Wednesday, October 24th to vote whether we donate it to the complex or keep it to use for next spring.
The MLS Cup is on TV Sunday, October 21st at 11:30 on ABC.
