One high moment frmo the 70s remains especially vivid today. On 25 March 1972, Inche Othman Wok, Minister for Social Affairs and Chairman of National Sports Promotion Board, opened Cedar's bitumen track, complete with a grandstand and cauldron. Perhaps it was appropriate that Cedar should be the first government school to have such a track, built at a cost of $250,000 raised through fund-raising.
