| Wednesday September 18th 2002 Wow - long time no update! Here's an overview of whazzup: Visited LA on the weekend and it was excellent! Can't wait to see her again, it was so right - despite the awkwardness, shyness, et al - that was all to be expected. We couldn't get quite as relaxed in person as we are on the phone, but we'll get there. We talk on the phone practically every night, still message each other constantly ... ah, so nice! I already feel like there isn't anything I wouldn't do for this chick - maybe because I'm confident she'd never abuse that statement, LOL My parents just got back from a vacation in Europe - too jet lagged to give me much of the story but I'm sure they'll have lots to tell once they recover. I can't say I've ever had big travel dreams, but still ... come on, they had to have seen a lot of cool stuff. Looking forward to that. I haven't heard much from my Japanese pen pal lately, til she sent me an email out of the blue saying she was worried about me and might be able to come visit in October or November despite her busy work. I reassured her everything's cool here and she was welcome to visit some other time when it wouldn't be as difficult for her. That was a very cool offer, though. Tonight was the last night for our Dragonboat paddling practices - tg!! It's a heck of a lot more work and less fun than it looks when you're watching from the shore; don't think I'll be trying it again. Race day is this weekend - we're doing a 1000 meter with a turn in the middle, then another straight 500 afterwards. After that it's goodbye Dragonboat!! With all the sudden romance in my life my writing's fallen a bit by the wayside :( But I've a plot to get myself back in the mood; I'm going to sign up for Wednesday night writing classes again. That means more concentration on short story formats again, but it'll keep me thinking on the subject. I'm working on the feedback I've already received on my novel's opening chapters, and even polished another one and am awaiting feedback on that now. So progress is slow, sure - but when wasn't it, and I've gotten this far. No looking back now. Bunch of interesting projects landing on my desk at work; made some more home decorating progress ... I can't think of anything in my life that isn't going right, right now. Romance kinda does that to you :) |
