I'm feeling especially at peace with myself today, although my confidence in my ability to write online ads is somewhat rough around the edges.  Something's wrong when even you think you sound 'boring', as one visitor criticized.

Regretfully, it nonetheless says exactly what I intended to say.  Perhaps its less the content than the tone that's the problem, so maybe I'll try spicing it up that way.

Today I have reason to reflect upon what a lucky bastard I am.  At least two of my co-workers are putting in tons of overtime hours to get to the bottom of their inbox, while I stroll out on Friday at my usual time.  Thinking upon it now, I don't think I've put an hour of overtime in anywhere, on any job in my life.  Another one of 'life's little blessings', maybe.  Ugh, hate that expression but there it is.

On the downer side, seems that damn Episode 2 preview isn't going to show on Canadian TV this weekend.  I'm a Star Wars geek - no denial - but you don't get between a Star Wars geek and his next episode preview, dammit!  I'm feeling a trip to see 'Ice Age' next weekend coming on, it's supposed to be hooked up with that.  Some men have their football, I have my Star Wars preview, c'est la vie!

Come to think of it, I've noticed there's a heck of a lot of movie previews that are better than movies themselves, these days.  I mean, sometimes previews are the best part of the evening.  They're meant to generate excitement and often succeed, which is more than you can say for a lot of the ridiculous stuff they've been feeding us lately.  Was there any bigger let down theatrically last year than 'Pearl Harbour', after that amazing preview?  That preview had me hooked, dude.  The movie... didn't.

Ah, my mind is wandering aimlessly from subject to subject.  It really must be the weekend, methinks.  I might as well grab some dinner and collect some focus before launching myself back at my real writing project (I'm not referring to my ad this time, although I should touch that up first).  There shouldn't be any distractions tonight, with my wife at work, and most-nearest-to-being-equally-bored-on-a-regular-basis friend out of town.

There, you see that?  It's not as if I
like to be bored....
