Celebrities from Chinese mainland, Hong Kong and Taiwan performed at a charity concert in Beijing on
Thursday to raise money for victims of the tsunami that hammered much of southern Asia.

Hong Kong heartthrob Nicholas Tse sang the well-known theme "Chinese People"
to a nearly full house of about 6,000 people who waved glow sticks, clapped and sang along at the Workers' Gymnasium in Beijing.
Tse's former girlfriend - popular Hong Kong actress-singer Cecilia Cheung - also sang at the four-hour event.
Others slated to appear were Taiwanese singer A-Mei and Feng Xiaogang, a movie director from the mainland.
"We came here to help out the victims of the tsunami," said Lan Linggang, a 28-year-old school teacher
who paid 1,000 yuan (US$121; euro91) for his ticket. "We just wanted to do something small."
Both celebrities and the audience dropped money into donation boxes on the stage and around the stadium.
The Chinese public has responded with unprecedented generosity to the Dec. 26 earthquake and tsunami,
which the United Nations has estimated could leave 150,000 or more dead.
By Thursday, the Chinese Red Cross had received 45 million yuan (US$5.4 million; euro4.1 million)
in donations and pledges - the most ever collected for a non-domestic disaster - said spokesman Wang Xiaohua.
The concert is part of an outpouring of support from greater China's

Well-known mainland film director Zhang Yimou personally donated 300,000 yuan (US$36,300; euro27,500)
to tsunami victims, making him the biggest celebrity donor, reported the major mainland Web site Sina.com.
"Zhang Yimou has been watching the news anxiously and watched with an aching heart as the death toll
increased over and over," Zhang Weiping, who invests in Zhang Yimou's films, was quoted as saying.
He made the comment Wednesday as he handed a check to the Chinese Red Cross on the director's behalf, Sina said.
Zhang directed last year's martial arts epic "House of Flying Daggers."

The 23rd HKFAA Film Awards were presented last night during a
ceremony held at the Hong Kong Cultural Centre. Major winners
included the film RUNNING ON KARMA, director Johnnie To,
actor Andy Lau and actress Cecilia Cheung. Taking home six of
the technical awards, THE TWINS EFFECT came away the night's big winner.
The subject of Best Actress buzz since LOST IN TIME was released
last November, Cecilia Cheung hit the trifecta when
she was named Best Actress for her work in the Derek Yee Tung-Sing film.
With her HKFAA win, Cecilia has swept the three major Hong Kong movie awards
this year. Earlier, Cecilia won Best Actress awards at the Golden
Bauhinia Awards and the Hong Kong Film Critics' Society Awards. Accepting her accolade,
Cecilia said: "Winning doesn't mean that I'm a screen queen or that I will raise my performance fee,
it means that I'll have something to show my family to let them know that they don't have to worry about me.
I will keep working hard! I want to thank Wai Ka-Fai, Andy Lau Tak-Wah and everyone who loves me.
I especially want to thank Stephen Chow for giving me an opportunity when I was a nobody.
I was just a sheet of white paper back then. Now, my paper is filled with many wonderful colours.
This is a very special year for me. There aren't too many years in life where you can win three awards."

For her role in the Hong Kong version of "Sex and the City". Out of the four actresses, Cecilia Cheung, Carina Lau,
Shu Qi and Athena Chu, Cecilia is the most high-paid. Then follows Carina and Shu Qi (same), then finally,
Athena is paid the least money out of the four women.
When Cecilia signed the contract, she requested an amazingly high pay; however, they accepted her requests for they
think Cecilia has a "market", and she is apparantly extremely popular in Mainland China.

Andy had been busy filming for Running On Karma, he had to hang on wires at a height of 50 feet between 2 buildings while
carrying Cecilia Cheung, "flying" from fourth storey of one building to the second storey of the other building.
Andy says: "Filmed the scene for the whole night, it took very long just for the testing, we wrap up filming only this morning."
Cecilia had been practicing ice skating, thus she always discuss about ice skating with Andy during filming,
Andy says: "We filmed more action scenes recently, thus seldom need Cecilia, that's why she got time for ice skating."
When she ask Andy how to be able to split his legs while standing still during ice skating but Andy quipped: "My age cannot be relate to
splitting my legs while standing still."
With regards to allegation that Cecilia is dating Mrs Heung's son, Andy exclaim that he never notice such matters.
He quipped: "She has many friends, I don't know them!" When asked if the location shooting venue be in Mainland China, Andy express that
it's not known yet but when decided, he'll set off this month.

Though today is Cecilia's birthday,she had quite a busy schedule.
Starting from last night, she had to be on set to film a movie with Andy Lau. At around 12:30am,
she came outside to talk on the phone and also allow reporters to take pictures.
She then went back inside to return to work.A while later,Ceci's brother-Cheung Pak Man,
along with represenatives from her mangagement label, CHINASTAR, came on set with two birthday cakes
and gifts to celebrate her 23rd birthday. Together, they sang "Happy Birthday" to Ceci.At 4am,work was finished and Ceci was allowed to go home.
The next morning, Ceci was at a charity event for senior citizens.For this event,
Ceci personally chipped in 10 thousand dollars to buy rice for the seniors.However,because of the amount of reporters that was present,the event
started to become chaotic,so Ceci was not able to hand out the rice to the seniors by herself.However,she did assure the seniors and told them to
stay,because other co-workers would be handing out the rice for her. She then left the scene with 6 body guards.
Later that afternoon,she went to the 1:99 concert.After singing her part, she went offstage and towards the audience.She willingly
gave out autographs to all those who asked for it.
When she went back onstage,she waved happily and blew out goodbye kisses.

Carina Lau Ka Ling earlier secretly began work on 2046 and
will soon start on INFERNAL AFFAIRS 2. Recently she has accepted a role
in a Wong Jing film that will be similar to the American television series
SEX AND THE CITY and will work with Athena Chu Yun, Shu Qi and Cecilia
Cheung Pak Chi for the first time.
Although the subject will be similar to SEX AND THE CITY, Wong
Jing's film will not focus on the subject of sex. The foci instead will
be on the four sex symbols in this romantic comedy. Because all four
are film stars of certain caliber, choosing lead actor have been an
extremely cautious process. At the very least they have to have
recognition. The film company is working hard on that and the film can
begin production around July.
Producer Wong Jing says the union of the four great sex symbols
will be quite a gimmick but stresses that the film will not be about sex.
It will be a highly confidential romantic comedy. Since the four beauties
getting together will be a rare occasion, he naturally will capture their
beautiful sides.
Also, due to the word of mouth that HONESTY has been getting, the
film company is interested in a sequel. Wong Jing expressed that he has
that idea but everything has to depend on the leads Richie Ren (Yam Yin
Chai) and Cecilia Cheung Pak Chi's schedules. At the very least he will
use the original cast like Chapman To Man Jat and Raymond Wong Ho Yin
because the support players in the film have created quite a chemical
reaction.

Yesterday,Cecilia went up to GuangZhou to attend an award show. At the show,Ceci won the Gold award for MOST FAVORITE FEMALE ACTRESS,beating
actress Maggie Cheung who won silver. At the event,not only was Ceci a winner,she also played the part for presenting an award and also performing.
Asked about how she feels,she answers that she's very happy, and will continue to do her best in acting for new movies.
Though many other HK actors and actresses won awards at the show,many were a no show because of SARS.Throughout the event,Ceci did not put on a mask,
while everyone around her did.
Reporters asked her why didn't she attend the second day of Leslie's funeral.Was it because she didn't want to see Nicholas? Ceci answers it's not
about seeing him (Nicholas) or not.She just didn't want the funeral to turn into a total chaos-with all the reporters wanting to take pictures and
interview the two of them. She misses Leslie alot,and hopes that he is happy up in heaven.
As for herself,she's been very tired these days,not being able to sleep.Even though she had two days to rest,she only slept for one day. She explains
that it might be because of work and nervousness. The last few weeks,she's been very busy finishing up work for her new movie-putting alot of pressure
on herself.

Cecilia arrived early in the night for the funeral of Leslie. Wearing a black attire, sunglasses and a mask, she made her way in and stayed there
for a bit more than an hour before leaving-crying tearfully the whole time. The pendant that she's wearing was a gift from Leslie after her car accident
from the TVB Charity event last year. Minutes after she left,Nicholas Tse walked in. Both of them did not see each other.
For day two of the funeral, Cecilia did not go to the funeral home. Instead, she herself drove to the hotel where Leslie jumped.She walked inside
and stayed there for a while-crying once again.Reporters believe that she didn't go to the funeral home to send Leslie off because she didn't
want to be seen with Nicholas and/or Faye-both of whom was present.

Mingpao newspaper comes out with an article saying that Mrs.Heung no longer wants to care about Ceci.Instead,she and China Star will begin to
focus all their money and attention onto another star under their label,Cherie Ying Choi Yee. They continue saying that Mrs.Heung has been
talking to Albert Yeung of EEG, hoping to "borrow" TWINS from him and promote the two in their next movie.
When asked for comment, Mrs.Heung once again explained that she and Ceci's relationship have never changed. "China Star is a big production
company. We, like all other companies have to promote new artists every once in a while. Cherie,like Ceci is one of our artists,she has a
contract with us,thus should be working on new movies. Ceci and I are fine. There's no one out there who'll be able to take the place of her
in my heart.Please,don't try to ruin our relationship."

Cecilia is now vacationing in Japan.Coincidently,Edison Chen is also there,and they are staying in the same hotel also.
While Ceci is there for fun, Edison is there to look for a store. He hopes to open a Clothing Store sometime soon in Japan.
Meanwhile,Ceci's manager, Mrs.Heung, has made contact with Mr.Yeung Sau Shing(Boss of EEG Music), asking him to stop following Cecilia and always
making up fake news
for promotion of sale prices for his magazine. Mr.Yeung ignores her comments,and continues to tell his
reporters to follow Ceci.

Although pirated VCDs of Cat and Mouse which stars Andy Lau and Cecilia Cheung is available in the market before it
opens in the 40 cinemas on Valentine's Day (14 Feb), but it's box office is not affected as it manage to collect
$2 million which is higher compared to Western movie, Two Weeks Notice's HK$1.4 million.
Media Asia is satisfied
that Cat and Mouse could collect $2 million on its opening day and hope that it'll maintain this sort of box office
collection. It's not known if it's due to Valentine's Day as box office takings for other movies like Chicago, Shanghai
Knights, Zhou Yu De Huo Che and Catch Me If You Can were also doing well.
Andy Lau and Cecilia Cheung's Cat and Mouse opens on Valentine Day and attracts many couple to watch the movie,
take the 2:00PM screening, it manage to collect a box office taking of HK$175,000, it's an ideal result as the days
taking should exceed HK$1000,000.Although pirated VCDs is already available in the market before the movie opens
but looking at the box office collection yesterday, piracy had not much effect on Cat and Mouse, this shows the charisma
of Andy and Cecilia is unblockable.
Both and Andy and Cecilia shows off their long trained swordplay and comedy
skills, with a love story in between, it's suitable for Valentine Day. Andy express that he had confidence in the box
office.

Andy Lau, Media Asia boss Peter Lam and his father, director Andrew Lau, Cheung Tat-Ming, Anthony Wong, Li Bingbing
and Cecilia Cheung also attended the premiere despite having fever. Although Cecilia is having fever, she brave the cold
by wearing a black tube-top with see-through dress and a coat showing off her skinny body but with look sexy.
Andy admire Cecilia ability to brave the cold as he ask her onstage: "I don't understand that when we were filming
under extreme cold weather in Beijing, you won't wear the thick thermal coat with the thin costume during filming breaks?"
Cecilia answers: "I'm lazy to wear and take it off, furthermore my body is strong, but I fell sick today."
Occassionally, Cecilia will fold her arms in front of her breast to make it "stand out"! Anthony cannot resist by
looking at her breast and Cecilia had to cover with her hands to block Anthony's view. Andy and Andrew protect Cecilia by
keeping a distance from Anthony. No wonder why asked how he find Andy, Cecilia says: "Before collaborating with Andy,
I feel that he's close to 100 points, now after collaborate with him, I feel that he's more than 100 points!"

Year February 1st. She play with Andy Lau in this movie.
