Directions to USTC
1426 Marshallton-Thorndale Rd
Downingtown, Pa.
There are directions to USTC posted on their web site. http://www.go2ustc.com/ These directions are for going I-95/202. If you are interested in “back road” directions there are two sets below. There doesn’t seem to be a real direct way of getting there. Please be advised that the directions below do include some truly twisting and winding back roads, but I have found these routes much shorter than I-95/202 and route 30 bypass.
#1 Approx. travel time 70minutes from Rt. 40 McDonalds in Elkton:
213 N to 841 N (can also take 896 N to Rt. 1)
841 N to Rt. 1 North (left turn)
exit Rt. 1 onto Rt. 82 towards Unionville (turn left)
continue on Rt. 82 past Unionville High School
turn right onto Rt. 162 East towards Embryville (turn is less than ½ mile past Unionville Elementary)
turn left onto Marshallton/Thorndale road (you will travel past Embryville complex and small golf course before the turn)
USTC is several miles down Marshallton/Thorndale Rd. on the left
#2 Approx. travel time 1 ½ hours from Rt. 40 McDonalds in Elkton
213 N to 896 N
bear right onto 796 N
At end of 796, turn Left onto 41
At first traffic light, Right onto Rt. 10
Take first road to right, Gum Tree
Travel several miles down Gum Tree, you will cross over Rt. 82, (Gum Tree will take you through the steel mills of Coatsville)
Turn right onto business Rt. 30 (this is the main street going through downtown Coatsville, there are several traffic lights and the road is currently very rough and under repair)
Continue on business 30 to outside Coatsville and past Thorndale train station
At the second McDonald’s, turn Right onto Marshallton/Thorndale road, complex is at the top of the hill on the right
#3 I-95/202
US 202 North. Take 202 North to Rt. 322 (Downingtown) Exit. Exit on right hand side and proceed through 2 traffic lights. At stop sign 1 mile ahead, make right onto 322 West. Turn left onto Hall Rd. (immediately after Bradford Nurseries, following signs for Highland Orchards). At dead end, turn right onto Marshallton-Thorndale and follow to traffic light (Poorhouse Rd.). After light, USTC is located on left.
