which would you prefer?

topic: Some people prefer to work for a large company. Others prefer to work for a small company. Which would you prefer? Use specific reasons and details to support your choice.

People have various predilections over everything; clothes, houses, pets, food, etc. The kind of job, or the working environment is no exception; some prefer a company of a small size, where more intimacy is possible, while others choose to work in a large company with diversities. In my case, if I were given a choice to choose between the two types of working environments, I would definitely choose to work in a large company. It not only provides a worker a challenge, and more room for variety, but also, it is less tiresome in terms of dealing with the other workers.

My father used to work in a very small, elite company that designed large ships. However, after about a year of struggling, he moved on to a much bigger company, where he enjoyed every day. Although nobody really understood why he quit such a safe, comfortable job with a high salary, he had reasons on his own. A rigorous designer and engineer, he could not find much challenge and excitement in the workplace, because the size was so small, and the tasks were so limited.
Having similar characteristics with those of my father's - looking for challenges to overcome, and enjoying the tense excitement from the adequate amount of pressure coming from the challenges, I know that I also would definitely prefer working in a large company where I can constantly measure the status of myself and broadening my scope of knowledge and skill.

People say that the ones you deal with at work are just as important as the kind of job you are assigned to do. When people who work together are very close to one another, undoubtedly, some form of conflict is inevitable. In such cases, people need some room and time to think before they reconcile. However, when the space is too limited, in other words, if the company is too small, there is no such thing as privacy. For example, my school has a very small number of students. Whenever someone has a fight at school, turns around to avoid seeing each other, and have some time to meditate, they evidently meet again in the dormitory, where they are bound to see each other's face. Due to this unavoidability, students at our school tend to never reconcile or forgive each other easily.
Another reason I prefer a big company over a small one is this; to have some privacy, and when met with another in undesirable situations, get some room for self-evaluation, and if not, at least be able to avoid any further trouble.

A big workplace can bring plenty of opportunities for challenges and and self- evaluation. It can also guarantee one a respectable amount of privacy and space, which enable more desirable and affable relationships with other workers, even in difficult situations. Just as beauty is in the eyes of the beholder, the preference of size of the company is totally up to an individual's tastes and characteristics. However, if I'm given a choice, I would surely choose a big workplace, due to the above two reasons.
