Preparing fod food is easier these days

is it a good thing? (what a lame topic -_-)

timed - 30 minutes
Nowdays, people can afford to prepare and cook food more easily, due to the technological advance that enables a more efficient cooking, and general betterment of society that brings more favorable monetary conditions. This more affordable cooking is undoubtedly a beneficial thing in two ways. People, especially women, can save more time, and devout the time to do more efficient things. ALso, easier preparation has enableed people to have less pressure or burden in social meetings where cooking is required.

One of the reasons why the 20th century is regarded a period of true emancipation of women is the development f machines that provided women with more efficiency, and consequently, more freedom. As preparing for food is easier, women, or anyone previously charged with household duties can spend more time on what they really like to do. A 50 % increase in the number of working women, and over 20 % consequent increase in the GDP of United States over the past 50 years are just two examples of how this convenience has helped the society in a better way.

When cooking was such a huge deal with much force needed, people were reluctant to invite others for casual meals. Even when they did, the concept of "casual" meal was never to be found, because the preparation was so burdensome for the hosts, and the guests doubtlessly were aware of the burden. For example, when my parents just got married, they had to throw a party. Although the party's mood was convivial, and the food was great, my mom became so resolute not to throw a party ever again; she had to be hospitalized for a week because of her muscle sore and the back pain. However, now, with the help of ovens that time and cook, and the dishwasher that cleans without a single stain, my mom can easily invite people over, and can be gladly preparing food, without help from my dad who just comes and creates more disaster.

Some people say that as preparing for food became easier, the quality and the effort have been decreased, However, this is not true. The easier preparation has cut off the heavy burden of cooking, and furthermore, granted people more time to pursue what they want to pursue, and not meddle with unnecessary tasks. In these ways, easier preparation of food can only be a beneficial, and indeed a "good" thing in our society.

(after writing his essay, i just realized how 10 more minutes really can save my ass and make me relieved. SAT writing is just cruel, and uh.. wrong!!)
