SAT II Writing ~14 (timed essay - 20 minutes)

Modern technology has indeed proven to be extremely convenient, and has replaced writing with hand to a large extent. However, these conveniences are not always around us whenever we need to write. Furthermore, even if there is a computer, or a word processor with a printer, there are certain occasions in which hand-written writing is much preferred to and desirable than that produced by modern technology.

A person may write 5 times, or even 10 times a day. However, there are many times of these when computers or a word processors to help writing and correct the usages are not available, as one cannot carry them everywhere. In such cases, a person is bound to write by himself. As there frequently are times like this, it gives a plausible incentive to write well without the help rfom other devices.

Everyone knows that he can make a birthday card for his friend by using a word processor; however, almost everyone preers to write in hand. Just as this example shows, there are times or occasions in which, even when electronic devices to help writing are available, one prefers to write in hand, and receive one written in hand. Hand-written writings, without any help from automatic devices, are able to reveal the feeling in the writing more, and show that more effort has been put into the writing. That is why many people still prefer writing with hand when they can easily get help from a computer and a printer to create the same writing more conveniently in a shorter period of time.

Modern technological devices help our lives in diverse aspects; writing is no exception. However, as it is the case for every kind of work, it is impossible to be equipped with them at all times. ALso, as it is so obvious when one looks around a supermarket and sees hundreds of cards being sold, many people prefer to write with hand, by which they show themselves in the most honest and direct way.
